OL for 2017 SeasonThis will be almost as fun to watch as our QB competition. Who do you see starting (our "1s") for most of the season? (barring major injury of course) . . . .
Pursley Kadarius Brown Todora Natour Then we have Barton/Wilds/Webb/Hyder/Bates/Ali/Huhn/Howerton (will be interesting to see which of the 3 freshmen get on the field first - I actually like Howerton but Ali is a stud also so). That's a pretty solid 2 deep, but a lot of young'uns. Last edited by ojaipony on Fri Feb 03, 2017 10:46 am, edited 2 times in total.
Re: OL for 2017 SeasonMy question: Is there enough for spring practice?
Re: OL for 2017 SeasonA true freshman will not start. At least not the first few weeks.
Re: OL for 2017 Seasonforgot Nick Natour who will probably start somewhere

Re: OL for 2017 Season
Ah yes, I hit submit before typing his name in (was definitely thinking it). I assume, then, that he starts opposite Pursley at tackle.
Re: OL for 2017 SeasonRT - Chad Pursely
RG - Kadarius Smith C - Evan Brown LG - Nick Natour LT - Jacob Todora/Matthew Huhn Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: OL for 2017 Season
So you see Natour as more of a guard and Todora more of a tackle. I had it opposite.
Re: OL for 2017 Season
I think they are going to start the season with: Pursely, Smith, Brown, Tadora, and Natour; however, I think the to RS Freshmen will both start out a guard. Guard Backups: Hyder and Wilds(not quick enough to play tackle). Tackle Backups: if someone gets hurt, Smith or Todora will be the first choice. Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: OL for 2017 SeasonI think Ali is the meanest freshman - I think he could see time on the field this year. Chad needs to win right now to get some recruiting mo - and isn't going to redshirt anyone who he thinks can help.
Re: OL for 2017 Season
No, spring will be difficult. Look for a couple additions this summer.
Re: OL for 2017 SeasonChad said at the NSD event that we'll see Ali on the field this season. I generally agree with the original post but wonder if Wilds could push Natour at the RT spot? Evan Brown was really an unsung hero last year at center- he's very solid. If Pursley is fully recovered that would really give the OL a boost

Re: OL for 2017 SeasonThe QB situation will be crazy this Spring too. If Page is a copy of Manziel and is enrolled now who knows who wins this job and who ends up transferring. CM raved about Gillins on signing day and I mean raved. He also raved about Page too. This will be exciting as heck to watch.
Re: OL for 2017 Season
I think Page enrolls in June.
Re: OL for 2017 Season
He says that virtually every year about a least one OL recruit. When he says it, he might believe it #optimisim, but he has RS'd every OL he could. Although the three OL recruits are fantastic (they are our best OL class in ...), they are freshmen. There are at least 5 guys with experience (plus Todora/Smith) in front of them. I just don't see any of the true freshman breaking into the OL UNLESS we have seriou OL injury issues again. But, if one of them blows us away: I won't complain. MY money is on Huhn playing first BTW. Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: OL for 2017 SeasonWe need more experience on the line. There are a few spots left in this class. Like I said, look for some additions after may graduation.
