Goodwin, Meissner Named To Preseason Haskins Award Watch List

COLUMBUS, Ga. (SMU) – Mustangs Noah Goodwin and Mac Meissner were named to the Golf Channel Preseason Haskins Award Watch List.

Both were named second-team All-Americans in 2020, the second consecutive honors for both, following a shortened 2019-20 season.

Goodwin's season saw him rank third in SMU history on the single-season stroke average list at 70.60 strokes per round. Nine of his 15 rounds were under-par, while six of his rounds were in the 60s.

He won the Maridoe Intercollegiate, one of four top-10 finishes in five events in 2019-20, and finished the season ranked 14th in the Golfstat Rankings.

Meissner broke the program's single-season scoring average record at 70.44, and posted 14 rounds of par-or-better in 16 total rounds last season.

In all, Meissner posted four top-five finishes, including a victory at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate, and finished 15th in the final Golfstat Rankings.

Meissner went on to earn second-team CoSIDA Academic All-America honors and a victory at the 114th Southern Amateur Championship to earn an exemption to the 120th U.S. Amateur Championship. He was also named a finalist for the Ben Hogan Award July Golfer of the Month.
