I smell Kool Aid . . .
C'mon - 7-4 is still possible, but what have you seen this season or the last three that makes you think we can sweep the rest of the season? Consistency is not one of this team's forte's. Big win against TCU - play a good 1Q at A&M, then get killed. After getting killed, come out flat vs. Tulane in ...

special teams strike again
AAAAARGH! What is the deal with our special teams?
I agree - kicking the PAT was the right call. SMU's moving the ball well enough (check hell's thermometer on that one) that it can expect to be in scoring position again. The proper calls was to go up by a touchdown, and then you think you can ...

Best student turnout yet, but it's still lacking
I agree that the student support was good tonight - the best I remember it being this season - but it's got a long way to go to be acceptable in my book. There were maybe 100-150 students in the section. I went to school in the late '80s, and we always had the bleachers FULL behind the SMU bench ...

The best thing we've got going . . .
has to be the MUSTANG BAND.
I went to the SMU women's game on Saturday, along with about 600 other people (disappointing attendence, but I digress). It wasn't much of a game, but if there's such a thing at atmosphere in an empty arena, this was it.

Well, if the band is happy with its arrangement, then I can withdraw the previous post, per Diamond Girl and Barbara Ann. Just trying to get you the digs you deserve.
And to the other post about the courtside seats, people play good money for those courtside seats, granted. And sure, we need the ...

6 Things to Spice Up Moody
In no particular order:
1 - New and/or brighter lights.
At the game against Baylor, I counted the light fixtures on the ceiling. There are 69 of them, only 62 of which actually appear to work. The light in my master closet seems to have more wattage than those hanging in Moody. I'm sure the ...

come on, guys
Let's not complain too much about the parking. Does everyone expect to park across the street from Moody? Let's not be too spoiled here.
Granted, they should have signs posted as to who can get in the garage and who can't. But beyond that, we have far greater things to gripe about.

don't play on Thanksgiving
I don't think a Thanksgiving weekend came is a good idea, either.
Let's just leave that weekend to the traditional UT-A&M, USC-UCLA and Alabama-Auburn games of the world. You think SMU-Rice would capture any attention over UT-A&M, even if it was played on a different day? And as was mentioned ...

That's Brian Jensen, sports fans
You remember the old now-out-of-work sports broadcaster at Channel 8, dont' you? That's him on the Texas Tech network. Last I heard he was doing a radio gig in Lubbock. He also does the Tech TV broadcasts, and apparently has been given carte-blanche on all homerisms regarding Tech's play.

Agreed.
I've written Coach Tubbs about trying to schedule Illinois, Indiana and Arizona State for next year. Why not try to bring those guys back home for their senior seasons? It would be sure to draw a good home crowd. I don't know if those Big 10 schools would slum enough for a road game at a WAC school ...

No SMU players on All-WAC Teams
According to the list published on the official WAC site, there were no SMU players listed on the first or second team All-WAC squads. Amazing. That stinks.
Tulsa had 7, Rice had 3 and San Jose State had 3 - teams that fell below SMU in the standings. But no SMU representation anywhere. Amazing ...

the DMN is fair
The DMN has given SMU fair publicity for years. When the program was winning, it was getting the page 1 photos and stories. Heck, even two years ago with a 3-win team SMU's game stories would still be on the sports front.

Re: Exp thoughts
And who exactly is the ACC's top programs that the Big East would cherry-pick? Florida State is the only possibility, really. There's no way that any of the four NC schools, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Maryland or Clemson are going to bolt to the Big East and lose all their big-time college hoops ...
