Re: Kevin Jennings named to Maxwell Award watch list

One cool thing about watch lists like this: I remember being really excited when a Mustang made one of these lists.
Now I expect to see SMU represented on a lot of them.

Re: SMU picked third in ACC preseason poll

It's hard to imagine the 'Noles will be anywhere near the disaster they were last year, but ... yeah, anyone who voted for them to win the ACC should have voting privileges revoked.

Will be interesting to see how that offense looks with Castellanos at the helm.

Re: Change in leadership for SMU womenΓÇÖs basketball

The fact that he canned Wilson so quickly certainly suggests he cares about women's basketball.
Sure hope so. After Mays and Wilson, it would be nice to have an upgrade of a head coach.

Re: John Shumate

Mustangs beat the Longhorns and Tom Penders in the final game to take the SWC title led by Run TMG - Tim Mason, Mike Wilson and Gerald Lewis.
What an underappreciated trio that was. Thanks for bringing up those guys, ShorePony.

Was that the game when, in the post-game handshake line, Shumate ...

Re: UNC finally fired Mack Brown

Nothing is impossible, but at this point it would take ludicrous-level SEC money to get RL out of Dallas.
That is what I think. So much DFW area talent, and SMU boosters are certain to have enough NIL money to load up on it. I think that SMU is about to have a long run of winning.
His exit from ...

All-ACC?

Before the season started, ACC coaches picked SMU to finish seventh in the conference, and Brashard Smith was the only preseason all-conference player, and that was as a return specialist.

The team obviously is better than seventh, and it seems fair to assume that more players should get All-ACC ...

Re: Michael Turner RB

Could be. Khenon Hall is a hell of a recruiter and we're 5-deep (at least) at RB.
Sure hope not, though. I've always hated Baylor, and always will.

Re: Schools Now Can Pay Athletes Directly

I might have this wrong and feel free to enlighten.
It seems to be a salary cap of $20 m for each school per year.
The school decides who gets the money and must work within title IX
Currently NIL money is taxable.
This new found money must be taxable as well.
All away games will be subject to ...

Apparently they're seriously considering the "Allstate 12" -- maybe even with a straight face.
