I know this is a terrible time for SMU fans. We went through the same thing year before last and now we are bowl eligible. The same thing will happen for you. You must not get discouraged, stand firm behind Bennett for a year or two more.

Re: C-USA
I think Rice is the odd one out on the list...at this moment. The Big East seems to be looking south again and IF they will go ahead and scoop up Central Fla. then Rice would get the nod. I think there is a decent chance of that happening.

Re: all indications are....
Yeah...it will be great to get the series going again. I think SMU deserves the spot because of 100 years of great Texas football. its hard to beat tradition and it takes decades to build. CUSA badly needs some of that tradition now. Hopefully we will get lucky and keep Cincinnati, we'll know in the ...

Re: all indications are....
Adding Marshall will really help as they seem to ba a real comer. The question I am interested in is Cincinnati. They seem to be having some real difficulties getting into the Big East. lets say they leave Cincy and take East carolina or South Fla. That will be a real boost for CUSA basketball. I am ...

Re: all indications are....
CUSA Presidents had a big meeting in Chicage this weekend to deal with expansion. The list I gave you leaked out from really good sources. The only possible change is Cincinnati. It may be that East Carolina or South Fla. might get that Big east spot because Cincy is having trouble getting the votes ...

Re: all indications are....
No...not at all. Looks like it will be a dog fight every year. Keep in mind that Houston was 0-11 year before last and may go to a bowl this year. With the CUSA TV package, and a great championship game SMU will, IMHO, come back quickly. It is always darkest just before dawn.

Re: BE Moves
Reed....For one thing the UAB AD said last week that the league was committed to 12 teams. CUSA has a multi million dollar deal with espn for a championship game. Central Fla. announced two weeks ago that they have not been contacted by either the Big East or CUSA and that they were talking to the ...
BE Moves
Good luck guys vs Baylor. Looks like the BE will take Cincy and Louisville. I think you will quickly get a call from BB to join us and TCU. That also means they will need three additional schools to make 12. Tulsa, La. Tech and Rice would be welcome as well. Don't see them going for Marshall with ...

Re: Will SMU agree on WAC exit fee?
Looks like desperation on Bensons part. he can't make you do it after the fact. My guess is the WAC as we know it is doomed. I think there are bigger and better things ahead for SMU....nobody stays down or up forever...it has always been a cycle. many of us can remember the Mike Ford days when both ...

Re: Expansion look
Bhop....most of us feel the same way. Who knows what the future of college football holds for all of us. I think there is a reasonable chance that events could put the four of us together at some point in the near future. Many of us would like to see more southwest teams in CUSA and with this ...

Expansion look
OK guys...lets start with the Big east. What are the chances of Syracuse, Pitt, BC and West va. all staying put??? My guess is slim to none. Keep in mind that the only reason the ACC did not take BC and Syracuse was the mess created over Va. Tech. Would you be suprised if the ACC went back for one ...

Re: CUSA 11th 12th teams
Water ...in answer to your question. If UL and UC stay (and there is not one scrap of REAL evidence that they won't) CUSA would need two teams to make 12. I'm assuming our basketball only schools would go to the Big east with thir BB schools. CUSA would then be a 10 team all sports league. They are ...

Re: CUSA 11th 12th teams
I don;t think Lu and UC will leave. There has never been any evidence of that out of the big east office. What evidence does exists is the opposite.
