...There are other programs with histories, the bluebloods, if you will. Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, and USC are some of those, while several others can also make a compelling case.
One that has no case to be in that discussion, though, is Dallas-based SMU...That didn't keep ...

Re: Orsak (former SMU engineering dean) fired at Tulsa
After just 74 days on the job, Geoffrey Orsak was fired as president at Tulsa. Very hush hush. Tulsa said leave of absence to tend to his sick father Tuesday but then came back on Wednesday with a two line press release announcing that he was relieved of his duties and stating who would be acting ...

Re: New ACC Teams Year 1
SMU and Stanford have arguably the two most popular golfers as alums right now. Tiger and Bryson. Tiger isn't very good anymore, but he still commands a huge following. Stanford and Cal also are huge in Olympic sports. This makes the ACC stronger. Note that Stanford is in the elite 8 in Men's ...

This reminds me: FSU and maybe others singled-out SMU as the the team that is weakening their conference. But I am trying to figure out what Stanford and Cal bring to the table athletically. Somebody educate me please!

Re: bring back our elite academic ranking
The message from Turner on Nov 11th was ΓÇ£ undergraduate applications to the University have increased more than 40% year over year.ΓÇ¥ This is presumably for Fall 2025. This may also be due to waiving the application fee.
That would be a significant increase if so.

Re: bring back our elite academic ranking
Dr Turner email from yesterday said that freshman applications are up over 40% this year! That's incredible.

is the guy financing this an SMU graduate?

He sure is. Got to wonder what SMU did to him to p*ss him off as I have never seen his name featured in SMU Magazine ever - thus he is likely not a big-time SMU donor.

Re: Great photo of Preston touchdown on home page 12/12/23
I still wonder if the 13 buffoons in the CFP committee took it against SMU the fact Stone was out injured long term, similar to what they said they did to FSU.
They said they would consider injuries to key players and there is no more key player than a team's starting QB so there is no doubt ...

Re: Fenway Bowl vs. Boston College

Staying at the team hotel and taking part in the activities is what it is all about... the game is almost secondary. Although I have never been to Fenway, so that ...
