Great photo of Preston touchdown on home page 12/12/23
See it now. Won't be there tomorrow. If someone knows how to capture the photo and attach it to this thread, please do.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

I still wonder if the 13 buffoons in the CFP committee took it against SMU the fact Stone was out injured long term, similar to what they said they did to FSU.

They said they would consider injuries to key players and there is no more key player than a team's starting QB so there is no doubt Stone's season ending injury was a factorMustangs_Maroons wrote:I still wonder if the 13 buffoons in the CFP committee took it against SMU the fact Stone was out injured long term, similar to what they said they did to FSU.

Q. Boo, similar to Florida State, SMU lost its starting quarterback late in the season. Did that play any factor in the decision to have Liberty ahead of SMU?Charleston Pony wrote:They said they would consider injuries to key players and there is no more key player than a team's starting QB so there is no doubt Stone's season ending injury was a factorMustangs_Maroons wrote:I still wonder if the 13 buffoons in the CFP committee took it against SMU the fact Stone was out injured long term, similar to what they said they did to FSU.
CORRIGAN: "No, it didn't. As we were looking at it, Liberty 5-0 against teams .500 or above, put up 700 plus yards against New Mexico State, a team that a week before went down and held Auburn to 10 points. Again, each one of these is held in isolation in looking at it, and SMU goes from unranked to ranked. A really good win against Tulane, but at the end of the day, the committee voted for Liberty at 23 and SMU at 24."
