Our new coach is committed to getting back to the P5. SMU is the vehicle to get him there, that's about the extent of his commitment to SMU which is fine as long as he wins.

I'm sure he would be just thrilled to come to our little coaching slice of heaven and work hard for our stellar fanbase after reading some of the posts on this board.

I didn't see anything in those posts that would suggest mutiny. Good lord. Some of you people seem to want us to fail.

I agree. It is what it is. Nobody knows how this is going to go. There is promise, though, from his previous stops. How about embracing the guy and hope he wants to take us to the next level, instead of giving up on SMU like many of you are doing to him before he even is announced.

I just posted the same thing CP. He will have a minimum of 3 years to see what he can do.

He will have 3 years. I am choosing to be positive and hopeful that in 3 years we are winning 8-9 games a year.

I don't think this hire can be graded, yet. Hart is the guy paid to make the hard decisions like this, and he will likely either be a hero or zero (no in between) with this hire. I am willing to give both him and Dykes the benefit of the doubt, though, and support them and our team until they prove ...

I would have to think Van Malone DOES NOT HAVE ANY CHANCE of being retained. Although, this is SMU. No amount of incompetency surprises me when it comes to SMU football.
