So, is it Sonny Dykes?
There seems to be a lot of insinuation that Dykes is going to be the guy. Is that right? There is literally NOTHING on the interwebs that I can find on anything SMU-coach related...at least that I don't have to pull out a credit card for...
Don't know much about him other than he had a marginal record at Cal. Did he pull a June and just mail it in on recruiting there or something?

Football Scoop: SMU: Sources tell FootballScoop former Louisiana Tech & Cal head coach Sonny Dykes remains a strong candidate for the SMU head job. Dykes served as an offensive analyst at TCU this season. WeΓÇÖve heard Todd Graham had a conversation about the job as well. Interim head coach Jeff Traylor was interviewed yesterday. Hear this one could be wrapped up very soon.

I still think itΓÇÖs Jeff Traylor. Players like him so much that it could cause friction. Picking Sonny when i canΓÇÖt find one person that deeply supports him. If I had to guess, they will sign Traylor after the bowl game with a $1.5m contract and use the rest of to recruit strong OC and DC and recruiters.

Better Sonny Dykes than Todd Graham.
Re: So, is it Sonny Dykes?
Paying $1.5 million for Traylor would be the stupidest decision ever. If he is your choice fine, but pay him $500,000 and build in tons of bonuses. There is no loyalty in college football so why overpay? When the big boys come calling he will most likely leave anyway.

If we got Saban would everyone on Ponyfans be on board with the choice?
