Yes, something like Syracuse's Carrier Dome (with the new name, whatever it is) would be even more awesome, but I figure that is probably asking too much.... LOL
Even though the Carrier Dome is named after an air conditioning company, that building actually did not have air conditioning, owing to ...

Between the pewter color and the "D" helmets, a casual TV viewer would have had little idea who it was. As bad as those red jerseys a few years ago which looked like the NY Jets.

Northwestern could also play these games at Arlington Park where the Bears are headed.

I am not a BMD, so maybe IΓÇÖm completely wrong, but I donΓÇÖt think we have the rich alumni football fans like we used to.
There's probably some truth in this; also, a lot more of the perceived big money in Dallas is from newer arrivals (Mark Cuban, Ken Fisher, Kelcy Warren, etc.) and not ...

went to a lot of games at Tx Stadium during the Pony Express days.
To put things into perspective. TX. Stadium capacity 65k+. Now if we had been playing those games in Ford Stadium we would have been close to sell out crowds (with a capacity of 32k).

Like I've said before, if we are relegated to Division II (i.e. same conference as NTCC) then I'm honestly done. I won't get tickets and I'll simply walk away. There is no way you can say "guys guys watch us play NTCC, SFA, UAB, etc" and think that's worth it.
I'll assume the Division II ...

Agreed that is about choices.
A men's track team could be offset by adding women's lacrosse and/or softball, but that takes commitment and not excuses.

Re: UConn could cut 8 of 24 sports
They cut a nice deal with CBS College Sports to broadcast their games.

UConn used to play in the CAA with Villanova and Richmond, but that is when they still played on campus. Their current stadium is 23 miles away. It would be as popular as SMU playing Southland opponents at Globe Life Park.

Re: UCONN to Rejoin Big East
UConn athletics operated at a $41 million deficit last year. They may owe $12 million in exit fees, another $2.5 mil for entry fee. They'll turn down an annual $7 mil from the AAC for about $5 mil from BE. And they have no home for football

Army had a terrible time in Conference USA and is more than comfortable as an independent.
BYU makes more money with its own TV deal than the AAC can offer, and plane trips east probably have limited interest in Provo.

Re: Other Games
Official attendance in Frisco was 11,029. A Wikipedia item for the game said it was 3,000.
The ESPN cameras took care only to show the field from a very low angle--no open seats as far as they were concerned, although by the end of the game they panned up to midfield and it was completely empty.
