Plusses:
-McMurtray and Mentzel were both solid today. Mentzels punt downed
at the one was awesome.
-Romo's pooch punt worked (Now lets put that away for a while).
-Warren was solid on punt returns. I like his confidence. He
wants to take it back and believes he will every time. I like ...

McMurtray

Chris was struggling earlier this year but was 3 for 3 last night on his field goals. According to my math, each of those points made a difference. Special Teams, although not yet perfect, were much improved. Keep it up!

Best use of the clock since I've been watching these guys. Way to go Romo, way to go Chase, way to go Sturdivent, way to go Mustangs!

When he took this job, Bennett believed that an SMU education along with its tradition, location, facilities and resources would be more than enough to consistently attract top recruits. He has found out otherwise.
What reasonable coach who's concerned about his future would want this job?

DMN reports that Romo has a sore back. If Romo goes down reason says that Phillips gets his turn. If he (Phillips) falls on his face then and only then does Willis come in. If this happens, Willis stays in the rest of the year.

After watching SMU Football for the past two years, and seeing what has to be defined as progress last year, I'm hoping to see three goals met this coming season that would make this year more enjoyable for all concerned.
1. We need to improve to at least "middle of the road" status in the ...

I find it interesting that the original poster of this topic is "Pony-Up" (caps with a hyphen and a 'newbie' with only 3 posts) and there is another poster named 'Pony Up' (caps and no hyphen and who has over 300 posts and is from Waco). Frankly, I think 'Pony-Up' just started this thread to get ...

Otto, you're right on. I happened to see this kid in week 4 or 5 and he was all over the field. I tend to watch more of the skill guys but this kid really stood out. He lined up in the middle and held is ground when the ball came his way. On sweeps he hustled sideline to sideline and made a couple ...
