I know the price of leadership talent is high, but I still marvel at his $800k a year salary. (I don't know if that is the entire package or just salary, but either way, it is a lot.)

The chancellor of the UT System, the top and most high profile post in public Texas, was earning less than that ...

Longtime has nailed it.

They are making a concerted effort in the metroplex. Their enrollment has been flat for a long time, and their region is losing population. They would like to get bigger, and DFW is the first logical place to increase marketing. DFW is the most populous Texas metro area ...

Thanks for all the classy posts and good wishes for our coach and team.

We all know what it means to go against the towering giants of #1 seed Memphis, but that's okay. We are freakin' IN-IN-IN. That's what counts. The publicity in today's DMN and Star-Telegram is a beautiful thing for Maverick ...

I had the pleasure of being on your campus this morning. First time in some time. Very pretty. A number of impressive new buildings. The tree-lined street leading to the rotunda building is simply iconic.

FYI, UTA's student population is 10% international.

No, we are not as lilly white as SMU, but I don't necessarily think this is a bad thing.

Judging from a previous post, I guess if you want to see a bunch of Asians on campus, visit the Preston Hall computer center in the wee hours, or ...

Tulane may just have to cancel its season.

For starters, how do you keep a team together? Do you suddenly enroll an entire football team at another university?

Also, university housing would unlikely be available. At UTA, the 4,400 capacity in on-campus housing is 99% full. I bet it is the ...

PlanoStang, UTA's Maverick Stadium can hold up to 15,000. I had the same thought as you. The lockers and other facilities are, of course, used by various UTA teams, but I'm sure a football team under these circumstances would be welcomed.

According to reports in The Shorthorn , UTA has also been ...

And, just to put in a little plug for my alma mater, UTA was listed as a "Best in the West."

However, I really don't get what Princeton Review is doing. For instance, why is there a "Best in the West" and a "Best in the Southwest." Oh, well, I don't have the time or inclinaton to look into such ...

You've needed a place like this for general discussion. Otherwise, everything gets thrown in with football, as that's the most widely-used category. We have enjoyed having a couple of general categories on the UTA forum for some time.

Nice move.

Thanks for the clarification. He's Methodist, so there's another reason for locating it at Southern METHODIST University.

It is hard to see how SMU will lose this.

He ought to locate it in Arlington, as the citizens of the city made him stinkin' rich (instead of merely rich) by providing him ...

SMU is the clear front runner for this Library. The Bushes have apparently expressed the desire to re-locate to Dallas after the presidency, and Laura is an SMU alumna. Also, SMU and the Highland Park area offer very nice settings, a large population base for visitations, and easy access to Love ...

I thought some of you guys might be interested in reading this. (I saw where the topic came up on your board.) Personally, I am very excited about his prioritizations: good-bye Texas Hall as a Division I sports venue!
