I would think being 6-5 and bowl eligible would take a team further than the thought, "well we had a tough schedule, and and few close ones, but our 2-3 wins were solid"
A tough schedule is only impressive if you win some of the games in it.
Building confidence early on does wonders for a program and the athletes that participate in it.
