Re: List The Stadiums You've Seen The Ponies Play In

The Mustang Band saw SMU play UCLA in the Rose Bowl stadium (1994).

Re: Solid game for McCann tonight vs. Raiders.

McCann's stats last night: If I remember correctly, had 58 return yards, including 25 or so yards on the one long return. Registered 3 tackles and one pass defensed. A good outing.

I thought I read somewhere that he was making in the $500,000 range.

Krag's salary at Tulsa reported at $439K. But because its a private school, you can't tell for sure. See the USA Today sortable database: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/2006-11-16-coaches-salaries ...

I'd like to see them open the Blvd earlier, but seriously people, it's only an hour lost. What is that. That's daylight savings time. Jeez

As was discussed at length on another thread, it's not just an hour lost. On every other game day the Boulevard "opens" when the first tailgater arrives and ...

I'm not sure I understand the uproar. The Blvd. usually opens four hours before the game. This one opens three hours before. It's one hour! What's the big deal?

On a typical game day, the Boulevard is "open" when the first tailgaters arrive. We are often among the first fans there, and are ...

Band didn't go, but a lot of us traveled up on our own. If I recall correctly, we won that game 42-41. ... and it was really cold.

For what it is worth, my wife and I had a good experience with the yellow shirts on Saturday. We brought our 15-month-old to the game; we had juice and water for him in a backpack. Even though it is technically against the policy to allow outside refreshments in -- and while they did raise an ...

Re: Will not be on the BLVD

SMUpony94,

FYI...We will not be there, nor the tent. We are on strike and everyone will know on the Blvd. when they come for free "mustang club" drinks. Coach will know as well.

DBB

That's the spirit! If the team isn't motivated for this game, it will be -- in part -- because of fair ...

Here's an idea....If you go to the SHSU game: get there early, enjoy the boulevard, actually go into the game, sing Varsity, clap to Peruna, watch as the Mustang Band forms the traditional Diamond M, sing Pony Battle Cry, and above all... cheer for the Mustangs.

That's right, crazy as it seems ...

Again. Improvement? That sounds like the last several years to me.[/quote]

I suppose I'm looking back to the blowouts to mid-level teams over the past several seasons. We haven't seen that this year. Granted, we have four to go. We'll see.

SMU Football Blog wrote:I recall the final score of SMU-Tulane was 31-10.

You consider three touchdowns competitive?

Noted. The team's attitude was terrible and they did not play to their potential. Even so, consider that three of tulane's TDs came on short, short fields: 16, 24 and 34 yards.

Any time somebody says we could be 4-1 or 5-2 or whatever, I am going to point out that we could just as easily be 0-7. We beat UAB on a miracle play by one point. We beat TCU; TCU lost its starting tailback during that game; their QB had the worst game of his career; and nobody felt comfortable ...

Yes, Romo did telegraph some throws -- and floated some -- but I think two of the INT's came off tipped passes.

The team played with heart on Saturday; a vast improvement from tulane. This team is much more competitive and fun to watch than in recent years.

Re: Phil Bennett aint the Problem

Well, I was asking about the A&M game since you brought it up. What about my second question? Why did they not tackle pretty much the whole game @ A&M?

Why were there were some missed and slipped tackles? I don't know. Admittedly, we had to play mistake-free football on both sides of the ball ...
