Re: Updated Season Predictions
For this season alone, my biggest concern is not maturation of young players or integration of HCCM system... but Matt Davis' health. Our record lives solely on his legs this year. He is a true difference maker when he runs outside the pocket and will win us several games on that ability alone (i.e ...

Damn. Now that's saying something!! Really is pretty crazy when you think about 140 years of college football history.
Thanks for the research.

Re: Most Outscored FBS Teams in History (Through 7 Games)
We might have lost by 143, but at least they didn't get the shutout! Hopefully SMU kicked a field goal on 4th & 3 with 2:30 left to play in the 4th qtr from the opponents 13 yard line.

Re: Most Outscored FBS Teams in History (Through 7 Games)
What will make it tough to break is that 1916 Pony team lost to Rice 146-3 in the 8th game of the season.
I know this team is bad, but good lord that's a beating.

Re: E Sanders
Awesome to see Eman on the NFL postgame show. Nice SMU shoutout.
As a Denver guy and a huge Broncos fan that was a senior when Eman came in to SMU as a freshman, I was pumped when I heard that Denver signed him.
Of course immediately got myself a #10 Sanders Broncos jersey and have been telling ...

Re: Stats 2000-2013
Put down JJ all you want - however all of this Bennett revisionist history is nonsense. Bennett is the 5th best post DP coach at SMU - and that is out of 5 head coaches.
I'm not comparing for the sake of Bennett. I just find it interesting to see no real improvement in our record over the 4 P5 ...

Do you have any stats to prove that most people just don't understand them?

Re: Stats 2000-2013
Since stats are always up for debate, I should probably add context to the above stat line to say I was interested to see how JJ has fared vs. Bennett against 4 Texas teams from bigger conferences where wins would seem to carry more weight in the minds of casual Texas FB fans than say wins over USF ...

Correct on winless against the academies. I like looking at these numbers as It's always interesting to see if they confirm or discount your own perceived views.
Another interesting JJ tenure compared to Bennett tenure stat on playing Texas P5 teams ...

Re: Stats 2000-2013
I excluded the bowl games under June for a fair comparison.
This analysis is interesting. But if the point is to determine how each coach has done against good teams, you'd never fairly exclude bowl games, would you?
I would agree with that point within a "singular view of wins" against good ...

I remember that one well. My senior year. Cost TCU a potential BCS bowl bid and a hefty paycheck. It came the week after TCU beat OU on the road if I remember correctly.

Re: Updated JJ Fun Facts
JJ is 36-41 at SMU.
30-10 against teams with losing records.
6-31 against teams with winning records.
3-19 against C-USA & AAC conference mates with winning records (including Navy)
JJ almost has as many wins against D-AA teams (5), as wins against teams with winning records (6).
