3rd recruiting class in our conference

Not bad for our first year in the AAC. Hopefully JJ and crew will actually call some of these kids and we can get more 3 stars and several 4 star kids every now and then.
I feel this is SMU's Mountain West Conference...a couple of years in here before Big 12 or ACC come calling! Let's win big and hope for the best! #PonyUp

Solid ranking, does uconn really only have 9 commits? That is putrid
Re: 3rd recruiting class in our conference
Only 9th in avg stars (more indicative of class quality)

Re: 3rd recruiting class in our conference
If I am reading that right, we are 3rd primarily due to number of recruits. We are next to last in average rating. That is not good. Please correct me if I am wrong.

No, we are next to last. We should be easily #1 every year in our conference given the amount of talent in just a 50 mile radius from our campus. No excuse. Pathetic.

I agree. We are the only Div 1-A program in Dallas and in a pretty solid conference with great TV coverage in all sports. There should be no excuse as to why we aren't recruiting at Big 12 levels. Conference prestige is not all in recruiting. Recruiting is sales and apparently we have been sucking at it lately. But I am glad that we grabbed these kids at the end...next year hopefully we step it up.

I'm confused, FTHP. Are you saying the class is good or bad?

If you think this year is bad, wait until you see what a coach gives you when he know he's done and he's not trying to get a new deal. It's going to be special.
Love and hugs for everyone!

Not as bad as I thought it would be. We will be fine, this year is done. Move on to the next and try to get a much better class for 2015.

I care not for what Rivals says. Scout and everyone else say otherwise.

You don't have a clue. It's not so much negativity as it is fact.

Re: 3rd recruiting class in our conference
Update-2/03
Rivals:
90 (total)
103 (average)
Scout:
73(total)
84 (average)
Blended Average No. 87.5
Interesting to compare Rivals and Scout with regard to SMU's Class. Think I would have to give it to the National Rivals Staff over Scout National Staff
Both Rivals and Scout had Colbert as 3 Star-he's probably really a 3 star as an athlete not a QB
Both had Gresham as 3 stars although Scout has him as No., 1 FB
Scout gave SMU 4 more 3 stars:
JR Reed -ACL, Prestonwood Christian (offers: Akron, Grambling, UNLV))
Inoke Ngalo-5-11 LB (offers-UH, UNT)
Shelby Walker(nice offers-low production this year)(offers: Boise, Michigan St. Tulsa, UH)
Kadeem Goolbourne-great offer list until injury left SMU as one of few commitable offers (offers-probably about 20 from mostly national high profile schools)
Rivals:
90 (total)
103 (average)
Scout:
73(total)
84 (average)
Blended Average No. 87.5
