An SMU versus Hawaii matchup makes no sense at all at this time especially in 2009 for either school except to the coaches and maybe some Hawaii fans unless of course, the light switch goes on completely for both schools offense where it could then really be pegged as the battle of the 4-wide R&S ...

Just got LUCKY in turnovers.
Total Bullsh*t! See below.

They just had 6 turnovers and thats the only way yall won.
The majority of those turnovers were forced and not just handed over by Fresno. During the ensuing kickoff after Hawaii returned one for 90 yards, the first fumble by Fresno's ...

Re: JJ's recruiting history

JJ has always been a poor recruiter.
I wouldn't necessarily categorize JJ as a poor recruiter. He just has a very different way of doing it. His philosophy over time morphed into concentrating on recruits who wanted to go to Hawaii rather than wasting time pursuing those who were looking at going ...

SMU can't go to the Hawai'i Bowl because Conference USA's contract with it ended this past season. The 2008 and 2009 bowl games are WAC versus PAC-10 and they are looking at making this arrangement permanent.

My personal take is that JJ should be putting 100% of his time and effort behind SMU. He may mean well but it doesn't look right for the head coach of SMU to continue doing fundraisers for the football team at another institution. When [deleted] Tomey left UH for Arizona, he made a very emotional ...

Examples of QBs who sent a tape to JJ: Heisman Finalist Colt Brennan.
Actually, Brennan never did send a tape directly to UH. How he got on Hawaii's radar was by complete accident.

It was a radio reporter in California who gave game film of a Saddleback wide receiver (Jerard Rabb, the guy who ...

McMackin as well as OC Ron Lee are both out recruiting for a QB and WR's. Rumor has it they were also going to look at a QB who was under the radar. Regarding Craft, one of his hangups seems to be the amount of playing time and being able to play right away. That isn't a guarantee at either SMU or ...

No, it probably won't because everything is time critical now especially with regards to recruiting. If this were the scenario several weeks ago, I'm sure Chow would've been been heavily lobbied for and considered as the top candidate. At this juncture though, he may not be the right fit with the ...

I figure Bo Mitchell will go to SMU
If Hawaii lands either McMackin or Gilbride, Bo Mitchell would still have the opportunity to play in a R&S offense. It is the uncertainty right now that has him looking at going to SMU. He is supposed to be making a visit there which may lock up his commitment ...

I hear Terry Bowden may be a candidate!

Big name guys like that will not work out in Hawaii because one important thing they will need to understand is the culture. What works on the mainland may not necessarily work on the islands. Some of the candidates that have the necessary ties or ...
