Re: WAC basketball attendance
My point wasn't that students could fill the whole lower level (wish I was here then), but that people always [deleted] about the students never showing up, when there are just as many empty seats on the season tickets side. I think alumni are often guilted into buying tickets to games they will ...

Re: WAC basketball attendance
While it would be nice to see 6,000 students at every game, we all know that just won't happen. But I will say that I have noticed an improvement in student attendance this year. Those OT games were awesome and I know each and every student was excited as all else at the end of those games. What I ...

Re: Peruna vs San Jose Thursday
I agree that we are all aiming for the same goal, entertaining the crowd. But it's awful hard to stick up for the pom squad when they don't show up to do their part. I don't care how good or bad they are, as long as they show up, because it shows they are at least TRYING. Not showing up to games ...

Re: Peruna vs San Jose Thursday
I am all for cheerleaders/pom girls showing up, more power to them. What I have a hard time understanding is that someone told them they DIDN'T have to be there for the game on Thursday. You yourself said that if it was up to the members, they would have performed. I want to know who told them not ...

Re: Peruna vs San Jose Thursday
I don't care if she has been to every game, if she hasn't performed at all of them. That's like saying Duke Biggers is a starter, whether he is on the bench or not. If she is there, she should be performing. In your other post, you mentioned it was up to the spirit office, not the girls to perform ...

New Uniforms
Weren't the new uniforms supposed to be revealed today at a Mustang Club function? If so, when does the public find out? Can you guys in the club tell us what you thought about them? Thanks.

Daily Campus can lick my bballs
I think the Daily Campus is a big factor in why we have a hard time maintianing student support. In the midst of the best football recruiting class in years, the Daily Campus can only talk about how SMU pays it's coaches SO much to never yield results. The typical student probably reads this and ...

Re: New Helment
Cowboypony, valid statements about size. I believe all the schools you listed require that their music majors sign up for marching band at least for a season or two. Also, Miami has a top music program and football program which couldn't hurt. As a side note, the Miami marching band pretty much fell ...

Re: New Helment
We wore the candystripe jackets maybe twice the whole year out of 18 uniform changes, so we do try to change things up a lot. Next time your friends start mouthing off, just point out the eyesore "brown brigade" A&M corps (haven't they heard of COLOR), or make jokes about the "hoe-down" texas band ...

Re: New Helment
The band got all new uniforms 3 years ago, unless you mean that we should get different band uniforms. The uniforms are unique and classy, not cheesy. Would you prefer the band dressed like Napoleonic soldiers like every high school band in the DFW area? As far as size of the band goes, if you think ...

Re: Minnesota was the National champs in '35?
There were several different polls back then, I believe the AP poll started the next year in 1936 to help clear some of this up. Basically, editors and writers around the country had their own polls and posted who they thought was the national champ. There is a listing somewhere (maybe ncaa.com) of ...

We need a new conference...
I know this is not going to happen next year, but we need a new conference. You know you are in a crappy conference when the freaking NCAA doesn't recognize you on their own site. What I am refering to is the poll on <A HREF="http://www.ncaafootball.net/" TARGET=_blank>http://www.ncaafootball.net ...

Re: S.T.A.N.G.S. - New Campus Spirit Org.
Bob put up flyers all over campus, but never really generated any big interest. One awesome thing he always did was sit out in front of the student center and have people walking by sign posters to put in the locker rooms. And he did it for ALL sports: swimming, rowing, soccer, etc. I was one of the ...

GAME WATCHING PARTY
This isn't anything official, and I don't even know if I can make it there, but why don't as many people as possible meet up at Bailey's 1st and 10 to watch the game. They love SMU there and would surely show the game. The food is good and you can't beat the real sportsbar atmosphere (I love how ...

Article on Cheerleaders in DC today...
Another article in the DC today about how the cheerleaders are getting flak for not being more like the traditional "yell-leaders". While I do agree that some of their cheers are kinda lame and serve no purpose, they are out their yelling and cheering the whole game. They work hard at what they do ...
