Rogers Named Sports Illustrated First Team All-American

Story LinksNEW YORK (SI/SMU) – SMU kicker Collin Rogers has been named a Sports Illustrated First Team All American as a kicker, the publication announced on Friday.

Rogers became the SMU all-time leading scorer this season, getting up to 352 total points. This season, he has 120 points, just six behind his number last year of 126.

During the Mustangs' game against BYU, the junior set a new program record with five made field goals. He also set a career long with a 55-yard make in the win at Louisville on October 5.

Rogers was named a Lou Groza Award semifinalist on November 19.

Eleventh-seeded SMU is set to make their College Football Playoff debut on Saturday, December 21, at 11 AM CT. SMU will face Penn State on the road at Beaver Stadium, and the game will air on TNT in addition to streaming on MAX.

Great honor. Once there was a time when SMU players routinely made All American status. This has been such a wonderful season with so many players receiving this honor.

Congrats to Collin for a well earned honor.
