My wife (also an alum) and I flew to Dallas for the Tech game. With our infant, we are also flying in for homecoming. Yes, my wife has family in the vicinity, but when is the last time you paid $1500 plane fare to go to two games?
For you to accuse me of having zero school spirit is absurd. I regularly wear SMU sweatshirts to work on casual day. My wife and I give money to the school even though we are not loaded. Trashing me and Dickerson does not really make you a better fan. In fact, to anyone knowledgable about college football it really makes you look like a complete fool.
I agree with Stallion that this has become a time for some serious decisions. If we are to compete, we need to relax some recruiting standards. However, to gain the support it needs from the administration and faculty, people would have to see improvement on the field. The faculty clearly wants the program to end, and rejoice when the team loses. It is in this vain that we need to start hiring better coaches. Phil has been a failure, and everyone recognizes it (except for some zealous Bennett fans). To get administration concessions, the team has to start winning.
