You make a good point Samurai, but let's be honest, VT makes the most sense for the SEC after A&M right now. When the realignment in 2003 occurred, the concern was that VT would be hurt financially and left behind (so to speak) by the ACC's raiding of other BE teams, until they got their own offer. UVa won't really suffer if VT goes to the SEC- the ACC is still a very secure conference and UVa would much rather be with the likes of Duke, UNC, and Wake anyways.

Just look at what happened to the big 12. A team leaving the ACC will make that conference unstable.

No it won't. Sec will only pilf 1 to 3, max. No other conf will pilf. Quite the opposite, acc will backfill w big east teams.

Oh the ACC will still exist no doubt about that but it will be a weaker ACC. They could lose teams to the big 10 and SEC. Losing teams does not make a conference stable or secure. They would also be crap big east teams like USF and Cincinnati because the SEC and Big Ten would have likely take. The good schools for themselves.

Maybe ACC goes after UT if VT leaves for SEC. There are rumors out there the ACC has reached out to UT to see if there would be any interest. I think UT is better served going east than west.

If Mizzou goes to the SEC not sure how that balances things out- do you split up Bama/Auburn or Ole Miss/MSU?

Easy. Move Auburn and Alabama to the east, move Vanderbilt to the west. Something like that would not stop the SEC from going after Mizzou if that's who they want.
