Garrett Gilbert Update?

Sorry if I missed this but I recall a fair level of excitement surrounding the possibility of GG headed to the Boulevard. Did a (very) quick search and haven't found anything dated after October 5th - anyone have any insight into this one? I have a feeling GG has the potential to get in a few heisman discussions a la Brennan w NFL size/major publicity/recruiting/etc.

I understand Gilbert's decision is made. He's coming here if he can get the two years.

The question is when does he find out from the NCAA?

Its my understanding that what he wants can not be granted until the last semester before his 6th year so if he's looking for guarantees he probably should look for Division 1-AA because I just don't think he's eligible for both a medical redshirt and then somehow a 6th year waiver. He's already played in parts of 3 years-he has to sit out next year to transfer. I don't see how he gets to qualify for 2 more years of playing at SMU.
