Garrett Gilbert Update?

Sorry if I missed this but I recall a fair level of excitement surrounding the possibility of GG headed to the Boulevard. Did a (very) quick search and haven't found anything dated after October 5th - anyone have any insight into this one? I have a feeling GG has the potential to get in a few heisman discussions a la Brennan w NFL size/major publicity/recruiting/etc.

You don't stop improving just because of uncertainty on the conference front.

Nope. But the posters on this board are more concerned with conference stuff. And Gilbert can't play next year anyway.

I understand Gilbert's decision is made. He's coming here if he can get the two years.

The question is when does he find out from the NCAA?

Its my understanding that what he wants can not be granted until the last semester before his 6th year so if he's looking for guarantees he probably should look for Division 1-AA because I just don't think he's eligible for both a medical redshirt and then somehow a 6th year waiver. He's already played in parts of 3 years-he has to sit out next year to transfer. I don't see how he gets to qualify for 2 more years of playing at SMU.

Then I'm confused. The last I heard was he was waiting on a decision from the NCAA before the transfer was announced.
