Chuck is a realist. He knows more about college sports than any media member in this city. I remember hearing something similar from him in the past. What he meant was that with the lack of apparent support SMU had showed for football, he didn't see why we even bothered having the program. He had a great point.
I would love to see Doherty on the air regularly on ESPN or (more likely) The Ticket. He's a great salesman and someone people will actually keep the radio on to listen to.
It really was nice to hear a coach talk about being a Top 25 team. He added, "it only takes 3 great players and a couple of role players to get to the Final Four." THAT is a refreshing attitude... something we haven't heard in about 20 years around here.
