And Then There was One

Trivia: Name the only former SWC team that doesn't have a 3 star commitment in Football. The same program that has no commitments at all now several weeks after its Junior Day

Southern Methodist University

It is really embarrassing to see Rice and Houston already have commits, as well as TCU, UT, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Arkansas and Baylor already have multiple commits for 2015.

I've heard we are going to sign an unusually small class in 2015. Really small, not sure why, anybody else know?

Well Stallion definitely knows better than me, but just by glancing at the roster it looks like we only have about 11 or so rising senior scholarship players. With Ja'Bryce getting kicked off, and some inevitable transfers or other departures, we'll be able to give more than that, but I don't see how we can take a full 25 unless there's a mass exodus (or the new coach cuts a lot of dead weight which is also possible)

Normally I'd say I'm for cutting dead weight, but I'm not sure the additional dead weight that will be brought in this class will be any better, if not worse, than what we got... I'd rather have the new coach have more free scholies down the road if this class only gets 10-15, instead of 10 extra bums.

It's gonna be a rough fing ride either way

You mean like losing:

JaBryce Taylor
Gehrig Dieter
Dameon Neroes
Ronnell Sims
Jared Williams
Sam Rice
Lincoln Richards
Traylon Shead
Brian Cramer
Ben Hughes

We have 17 months to lose enough players to take a full class. "Roster Counters" get it wrong because it doesn't matter how many scholarships you have availiable today or on signing date-it matters on August 1, 2015

Ha I don't think I've ever been a "roster counter" before, I literally just glanced at it this morning. I was under the impression that we were taking a small class this year and we ended up signing what...22? Plus June said he was saving a spot or two for transfers so I was thinking that a lot of those ships (Shead, Cramer, Hughes, Rice, etc) had already been re-allocated.

We took almost a full class-24 if you count Barns. I think we only have room for 1 transfer unless they want to wait until August. We were told LAST YEAR was the small class. Somebody claims just about every year that we are taking a small class. Chief Roster Counter on this board pronounced we were done when we had about 16 commitments just a few months ago-took about 9 more. Even E.J fell for it at about 18. I said sit back and watch. I'm saying the same thing this year. Once June is fired there is likely to be even more turnover than ever
