I played basketball (badly) when I was a kid, and I remember getting upset that I didn't play more. I suggested to a couple of friends that the only reason one guy played a lot was because he was the coach's son.

My dad shut that whining down in a minute. He told me that if I didn't like the way playing time was being divided up, I should play so well in practice that the coach had no choice but to play me. (It didn't happen. The coach's kid ended up playing 2 sports in college and playing minor league baseball. He was BY FAR the best athlete on the team.)

In other words, if Moreira doesn't like watching Kennedy and Cunningham in games, start beating those guys in practice every day. The coaches will notice.

Dude, give me a break. If we have gotten Turner we have to run a big off. He could play lights out in practice and still not play if the plan was to run him off so we could get Turner. Let's wait and see how this plays out. I think everyone might like the ending except Yanick. But if that is the case it has to happen.

My guess: Yanick really pissed off the coaching staff by not being a team player/not going to classes/not drinking the KoolAid and they said screw him, we'd love to have your scholarship anyway.

He can do a lot that we need inside right now. The idea that he didn't play AT ALL against UCI b/c we had better pieces to plug into the game is ludicrous.

I think he was going to class. He was always unselfish during the season before he got hurt. But it is more to this than him being a malcontent imo.

I think Coach U is doing some good damage control I guess. But you never can tell how someone is going to react when you try to run them off.

What kind of message would Brown be sending if he starts playing him now? Yanick has backed himself into a corner now.

He wasn't going to play anyway.

I was skeptical but now I believe more than ever that Turner is pretty much coming to SMU.

How good would we be with Mudiay, Turner and a sharp shooting 2 guard? Add them to a very experienced and deep squad and we'd have to be one of the odds on favorites for the Elite 8

Hang on ... Really? Because Yanick isn't getting any time? Out of every reason to say Tuner is coming here, I'd say that's the lowest ranked one.

Yanick needs to shut the [deleted] up for his own sake. If he wants more playing time, this certainly isn't the way to go about it.
