I think 28 points is reasonable to expect. I think our D will hold its own in the first half, but our offense will be very ineffective. Our D will be on the field for a lot of the game, and will wear down at the end. I think it will be relatively close, 17-7, in the third, but we will give up two late scores and lose 31-7. That covers the spread, but it will be pretty close to the spread at the end.
I just want to see us work hard, compete, and stay healthy. I don't care about A&M as much as I care about Tulane, which is truly the biggest game of the year. if we beat Tulane, we have a chance to go 6-2 and go bowling. That is THE big game.
There will be lot of interesting sub-plots in this one. Bennett was canned at TCU wasn't he when Fran took over? Bennett is an ex-Aggie and would love to beat them (perhaps selfishly to be considered for the job whenever Fran moves to his next address). A&M needs a win and would hate to have to explain a loss to the Ponies. I think A&M will be sky high, but tight. SMU hopefully will be loose and sky high but not overconfident. If our offense can reel off a few long drives like in the TCU game so that the defense can stay off the field, we should beat the spread. A victory would be too much to expect. We beat the Frogs, but remember until that roughing the punter penalty gave new life to the offense it was 14-10 and the offense was struggling at that point. The Aggies will stack the line daring Romo to pass. This would be a great game for Kennedy to get a few possession receptions.
First Froggie get off the board...the score board said 21-10 at the end of the game and we will use the skillet to fry frog legs for the next two years so move on to your next [deleted] whooping.
Would love to see us keep it close this weekend. Hopefully we can establish some type of running game to limit the amount of time McNeal spends on the field. I think we can hang tight with them all game and hopefully get out of there in good shape to prepare for the Tulane game.
Re: Playing in Aggie Land
While I shouldn't even respond to this... the Baylor loss will preclude that from happening should we somehow someway pull a miracle at Kyle. ![]() Eric Dickerson in Pony Excess "I've love winning man, it's like better than losing." - Ebby Calvin "Nuke" LaLoosh
Tap the brakes..
I will be at Pyle Field cheering our guys on.. but you all have to realize that while Reggie is no Vince Young.. he's lethal if he gets hot. I agree with the comment Stallion mentioned in another post.. our LBs could keep him in check somewhat. But if he gets hot throwing and Lewis wakes up.. it'll be a long day. Just look at their OL and see the Baylor game. I love our Defense.. but this is a huge test on our DL. If aggy is smart.. they'll run it down our throats like Baylor did. We might keep it closer than expected in the first half.. which would be great. But look for our Defense to wear down in the 2nd half and give up some Reggie long runs. All that being said.. stay healthy, knock the hell out of aggy and kick the dog on the sideline. Lastly.. dog whistles anyone? ? ? What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.
you know I'm not sure A&M has run it down anybody's throat in awhile. They still have a very talented, large Offensive Line but that really isn't their game anymore. Plus they don't have a big bruiser at running back like Mosely. As I remember Lewis like most TBs for Coach FFran is an excellent pass catcher out of the backfield.
yep, this has been my thinking since Saturday night...er maybe Sunday morning when I finally got home from Ford. Although I may not suggest going bowling yet, but the season hinges on Tulane.
Lewis caught 2 for 28 vs. Clemson
Last season Lewis caught 12 for 163 yards and 2 TDs The prior season he caught 10. Go Ponies!!
Beat whoever it is we are playing!! @PonyGrad
