Some themes emerge

Postby The PonyGrad » Sun Sep 11, 2005 12:28 am

With only the Baylor game it was hard to tell but now some themes are developing.

Good defense, great pass defense - should be top 10 this week.

Good running, weak but maybe developing passing.

Botched special teams.

And one of the biggest ---- turnover advantage!!!!!
Go Ponies!!
Beat whoever it is we are playing!!

Another theme: Those who have been dissing our fans were also shown to be dead wrong. All they needed was a glimmer of hope.

The official stats bear out the themes except some of the special team results.

Pass Eff. Defense is in fact in the top 10, at #8.
Pass Defense in yards was #24

I would call that Great!

Overall defense was good at #47, scoring defense at #46

Rushing was good with the offense coming in at #43
but the passing was weak at #111 out of 116 teams that have played
Total offense was fair at best at #97 but we have played the #27 and #15 defenses repectively. BTW A&M is #75 in total D.

Turnovers has been such a turn around from last season. We are now tied for 9th in that category!

Special Teams results were mixed:
Net Punting #98
Punt returns #25
KO returns #71
FG accuracy at 20% is the absolute worst.

Individual of note - Jamey Harper rated #2 in the nation with 1.5 picks per game.
