Students talking

Postby couch 'em » Sun Sep 11, 2005 2:50 am

Well it took coming back for a 5th fall semester but finally I can say I've seen a quality SMU win. If we can make a decent showing against atm, and then come back and crush Tulane (no hurricane pity!) then it will be a great atmosphere in Ford all season and into next year. I ran into students on the field who were telling me all week in class how horrible the team is, and why they will never support SMU football, bla bla bla. Suddenly they are the biggest fans ever. If the team can keep going, the students will be there.

Too bad the old farts and general public where nowhere to be found. The west stands looked half full at best. I'm sure it will be different now. I really hope SMU uses this win to promote the crap out of SMU football.

I have had trouble just giving away my 50 yard line tickets in the past to SMU alumni. With a few more wins (including next week at A$M) that will change. This reminds me of the come from behind wins over Baylor and Tech in the late 70's and early 80's. The atmosphere in the stadium after a win like this is what life is all about!

I wish the Mustang Club would contact all season ticket holders (between the 40's) & request if your're not coming, donate the tickets back to the Club for resale.

It's ridiculous to have empty rows (not seats) in the middle of the west side.

Or worse- I had 3 Frogs sitting next to us last Sat!
