Subjective Satisfaction MeterSpeaking for myself, I am now at the point where I'm happier with our current situation in the NIT than I would have been had we made the Dance but lost in the first round. So the snub itself is now made up for me.
Re: Subjective Satisfaction MeterSure, assuming we lost the first round.

Re: Subjective Satisfaction Meter
Good point. I wouldn't have expected to have done that, so the snub account is not entirely covered. But this sting has found a nice salve. This is great fun.
Re: Subjective Satisfaction MeterLast night was my favorite game all year ... We walked out of the stadium on a MONDAY NIGHT at 10:15 and the energy was still electric.
Re: Subjective Satisfaction MeterAgreed stl.

This
Subjective Satisfaction MeterI will say we may look back in a year and say the snub was the best thing that could have happened to SMU basketball.
SMU was a a story. The snub was a story. We got 3 more home games. The team plays better at home and we can all agree this team had a fragile psyche going into post-season play. Like Bob Knight said years ago, the NIT is a good tournament for a young, inexperienced, but talented team. The snub will also motivate the team next year and everyone will know to LEAVE NO DOUBT every game. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Re: Subjective Satisfaction Meter
+1
Re: Subjective Satisfaction MeterI would still prefer an NCAA tournament bid even if it meant getting bounced in the first round (ie the play in game).
Re: Subjective Satisfaction Meter
I sure felt this way last week but I am sliding over to Dooby's line of thinking. Next year will be different but this year, as far as publicity and program awareness, we could not ask for more. We may not be at the big dance but we are getting to enjoy the limo drive. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Subjective Satisfaction MeterI was as pissed off and frustrated as anyone after the selections but never, not for a second, did I doubt that there could be serious benefits to the invitation and the seed we were given.
Now come visit me in NY LB!! Party at The Wopper!
Re: Subjective Satisfaction MeterI have just kept reminding myself that when the season started out I was calling us a "fringe tournament team". I thought we would be lucky to win 2 out of our 8 games with the top of the AAC. We outperformed those expectations, and for that I am a happy camper.
I have really enjoyed these extra games at Moody. I'm pretty sad that in about a week I have to wait until November to watch these guys play again
Re: Subjective Satisfaction Meter
Agreed "smupony94: Harry, you have been promoted to purveyor of official status capabilities."
Re: Subjective Satisfaction Meter
The sting of being left out has worn off, but if you think winning the NIT is better than making the NCAA tournament I don't know what to tell you. BTW I say this as a general statement, not particularly to you mrydel.
