Re: SMU TV ratingsOr have a three-way with Syracuse and Duke.
Re: SMU TV ratingsStill say we need a rotating Methodist tourney with Syracuse, Duke, SMU, and (Northwestern, or Centennary, or Kentucky Wesleyan, etc.)
Re: SMU TV ratings
Duke cut ties with the UMC a long time ago, but if Methodist heritage is enough then skip Centenary and include SC and Vandy.
Re: SMU TV ratingsPerkins, Duke Divinity and Candler at Emory comprise a mighty triumvirate of methodist seminaries. Does Emory play hoops ? How bout Methodist Episcopal heritage? Auburn come on down. Invite Boston U too.
Re: SMU TV ratings
Duke still maintains their affiliation with the UMC. Vanderbilt split from the church in the early 1900s. http://library.duke.edu/rubenstein/uarc ... ist-church
Re: SMU TV ratingsIs anyone else surprised how bad our ratings were? I thought they would be much better with all the publicity we've gotten here in Dallas
Re: SMU TV ratingsThese are the numbers ESPN and Networks look at when making offers on TV contracts.
Re: SMU TV ratings
First year of any sort of national attention or games being played on national television. It takes a while for people outside of Dallas to take notice.
Re: SMU TV ratingsAt a quick glance, none of the games broadcast on ESPNU seem to draw very much of an audience.
I did find this article that breaks down the number of households each network reaches. I am surprised at the ESPNU number, thought it was smaller. The article was published in 2013. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2013/0 ... 13/199072/ GO MUSTANGS!
Re: SMU TV ratings
Relative to other games on the same channels and at similar times, our ratings were not horrible. The key is to get off ESPNU and onto ESPN-Uno. Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: SMU TV ratings
They are pretty good numbers considering our games were on ESPNU/ESPNNEWS/ESPN3 or CBSSN. The other games with larger amounts of viewers were on local channels as well as ESPN and Fox Sports 1
Re: SMU TV ratingsThey will improve over time - our product is amazing.
Re: SMU TV ratingsWill we ever get on ESPN?
It seems the key to this whole thing is the conference tv contract. I'm afraid the Louisville exit will end up really hurting our conference. I wish we could somehow get into the Big 12 where we could whip Kansas twice a year!
