suppose we have a real good season next year and the ncaa disses us (again) by offering mediocre seeding. is there any scenario wherein we would return the favor by asking for a high seed/money boost and accept an NIT bid instead? even supposing it might be to defend an NIT title?
i know the ncaa is where everybody seems to want to be, and i read here that the money is better, but i personally think the ncaa needs some competition. in all sports.

That would be like turning down Scarlett Johansen for Melissa McCarthy b/c Melissa will not make you buy dinner before ....

The NIT waits until the NCAA has selected the teams and then they take what is leftover so your scenario in not practical. Also, in the Big Dance I believe each team gets 1.6 mil for getting in and 600,000 per win. The NIT is nowhere near that. And we are already a #1 seed in the NIT so we could get a higher seed.
