Frazier's Progression

Postby FIVE-O-FAN » Thu Mar 27, 2014 6:57 am

One of the best aspects of this season in my opinion has been the progression of Keith Frazier. His defense has improved tremendously, he has hit important shots at key moments (3 at the end of the half vs Cincy comes to mind), and his minutes have picked up as a result.

Aside from all the obvious things, I think I'm most encouraged by his attitude. He came in as a McDonald's All-American and wasn't playing much initially. Instead of moping or going to Twitter, he worked on the things he needed to to get on the floor, and when he got out there, he made the most of his opportunities. He is always the biggest cheerleader on the bench and the first to give props to his teammates as they are walking off the floor during a timeout. His enthusiasm is real, you simply can't fake the emotion he shows after big shots. Whether he is the one that made the shot, or he's waving the towel after someone else has, the passion is there.

I sure do like what I see in this kid.

Last night, he started off on both sides of the court. Larry pulled him aside during free throws and gave him an earful. Drained a three on his next possession and tightened up his defense dramatically. Very pleased with his maturation.

I completely agree w all of this...he was recruited as the savior for SMU basketball. It would have been really easy to get down after the way he started.

He completely took everything in stride and grinded until he could get on the court for more minutes. Really impressive.

Yeah, love his energy. Always into the game, even when on the bench.

the progression will be moving from 3 point spot shooter to getting it to fall on the move. He's got the stroke in the flow of offense now but his shooting percentage is abysmal when he attempts to create outside shots on his own. Some never get there-but he certainly has the physical skills to get there

Certainly can't argue with that. The runner last night was pretty though.

Did anyone notice he was our best cheerleader when not on the court. He circled the entire crowd to get to Nic Moore at the end of the game. Loved seeing that. Great kid.

Keith is going to be so important with that shot, so happy he is progressing well.

Not to derail, but anyone notice the opposite of this last night as the fans stormed the court? Mr. Twitter himself walked straight off and directly to the locker room while the players cheered. Emotionless face and all, which was surreal to see considering the atmosphere at the time.

unless I am horribly mistaken I am pretty sure Mr. Twitter was the person that lifted Nic up into the air

You are correct. This was immediately after that. No biggie, maybe he didn't want to be in the mob of students. I just noticed it because I'm right next to the tunnel and noticed him walking in by himself.

After Nick R hit that reverse layup tp put us up by 2 - During the time out that followed
Keith was bouncing up and down with pure joy for about a minute in back of the huddle.
He is all for the team and I think the rest of the team is appreciating him as a teammate

Great job Keith - you are improving with each game.

His points and his energy are what got us to even at the end of the 1st half. No Keith, no win last night.
