Two pieces on the best tandem in college sports. I am giddy about their call from the GARDEN tonight.

Vern will always be the host of "Bowling for Dollars" on Channel 8.

I remember Verne from doing the sports on Ch. 8 in the evening. His wardrobe was always very sporty and was furnished by Gary William's Kent Shop which was located in the Promenade Shopping Center in Richardson.

Wow, good memory.

Around that time, I believe Verne lived in an apartment complex east of campus, west of Skillman. One night my brother got his autograph as he was headed home. It simply read, "Verne Lundquist, Thanks!!!"

Wonder if the Pony Express years would have been any different if Verne was at the helm at WFAA instead of his turd replacement aka Dale.

I think he usually says "man to man" if the defense starts out that way.

Yep. "Well, Verne, the defense has set-up mhtmh!"
