Actually, from personal experience, that's a negatory ghostrider. Duke has its share of media sluts (and I use that as a term of endearment). In my day (or close thereto) as a law student there was the chef, the viking, gorilla, the speedo guy. If you watch any broadcast of Duke these days, there are many many costumes in Cameron. They are all vying for a little bit of tv time in a sea of committed fans, or seeking a little extra edge against opponents who spend time thinking WTF instead of concentrating on their play. Some choose not to stand out because hamming for the camera as a side effect of their fandom is not their thing. That's great and supported too.

The fact that anyone is referring to people as "uncool" or "weird" and worried about what other people are thinking about these guys just tells you right there that high school does not, in fact, end in high school.

There was a story a while back about a men's swim team, maybe at Louisville?, that shows up to women's volleyball games and removes a piece of clothing for every point scored by their team. They come dressed in multiple layers, but the team apparently scores a lot of points. They keep their speedos on though. Sounds like a plan I could get behind -- all you dirty old men are getting your eye candy. Time for a little Title IX equity here.

Yep, Louisville. It really is "all things considered" over at NPR:
