not sure if it is a mistake or not-because it is not supported by a story-but Rivals now lists SMU as the only school that Renfro has high interest in-he has many many offers though. Never really seen him mention SMU prominently in prior stories. Surprising to see a change like that without some documentation. Maybe Enright got to him. We'll see. Renfro is the No. 71 player in the Rivals Texas Top 100 and the son of TCU great and Dallas Cowboy/Houston Oiler Mike Renfro and the grandson of NTSU and Dallas Cowboy WR Coach Ray Renfro. Sometimes a report will appear on one of Rivals school affiliate sites before its released on the full Rivals Network but I couldn't find it on our local teams sites.

Well, the young man has an ability to catch the ball.
And, he plays for a winner.
Winning is a habit-- just like losing.
I hope we keep recruiting from winning programs.

He's really skinny.
But he's also very fast, has unbelievable hands, and adjusts to the ball in mid-air (including when HE's in mid-air) better than any HS receiver I've ever seen. I sure hope this isn't a rivals mistake.
Go PONIES!

the problem I see is that his father said a few weeks ago that he really wants to run track in college(300 meter hurdles is his event)--and ah-- opps we don't have a track team any more do we.

This kid's a WINNER. Get him in the barn. He also needs to bring along a few of his teammates.

Anyone who saw Carroll last year knows this young man is a helluva athlete. I believe I remember the announcers of the state championship game saying he runs a 4.3 40. He's probably only a couple of inches from being considered a national top 100 player, but everyone is looking for the Jermichael Finley's of the world. Regardless, we would be very fortunate to land Renfro.

Never mind. A new report DID come out this morning as I expected but concentrated mainly upon his visit to TCU this last weekend. SMU was never mentioned and I think we have to assume SMU really isn't in this race. Probably it should have said high interest in TCU.

Stallion, are you sure the new report is not a mistake or something?

That's what I'm wondering, too. That story does talk about TCU, but rivals is still showing high interest in SMU. What I wouldn't give to see Renfro, Junior Cleveland and Junior Burley on the Hilltop!

What we need to do to land Renfro is to sick Mitch Enright (Redshirt Lineman) from Carroll on him... I hear they are good friends, and it for sure wouldn't hurt that we just beat TCU.
When Phil Bennett was handed the Iron Skillet that goes to the winner of the SMU-TCU game, the hundreds of Mustangs fans who'd swarmed the field began hollering as if their team had just scored a couple more touchdowns.

All will change if we win. There are most probably players that come under our scope if we win.

Rivals has fixed their mistake and SMU is no longer even on the board for Renfro. Doesn't mean we can't fix that between now and signing day...but doesn't look good right now.
