The June-must-die junta is kind of like the NCAA Selection Committee- they will take whatever fact they can find and use it to denigrate

I guarantee you that if we weren't recruiting him, the same people here would be ticked off at June for not going after a 4 star that we have a good chance at

Re: Kyle Kearns visiting
No attack on Jones from me. No agenda from me. I just asked a simple question to which apparently there is no good answer. A simple "Don't know why there are no offers yet" would be sufficient. Again, I hope he is the second coming of Chuck Hixson, commits now, recruits others, and becomes All American. But I am curious as to why no other school anywhere has chosen to offer.

Re: Kyle Kearns visiting
I am 100 % with you on this Rydel. There has to be something else going on for the #9 QB prospect in the ENTIRE country at his position to not have any other offers. I myself could care less about stars, i like to see quality offers. Pretty much every team in the ENTIRE country has put out QB offers and for some reason passed this kid up. That makes zero sense if he is the 9th best QB in the COUNTRY. On a side note i hope he really is and we get him.

Not talking about mrydel or brooks, who have asked valid questions.

Yes it is group thinking Nazis who have aspirations for the program to be more than a 6-6 also-ran that gets its doors blown off by any opponent that is worth a damn. Please.
I've said many times I think June was a fantastic hire in 2007 coming off the undefeated season at Hawaii and the BCS bowl. I think we all wanted and rightfully expected several 9 plus win seasons based on what he did at a school with far less advantages and resources than SMU. We took us from dreadful to mediocre. That is all. Making bowl games in the modern era is the equivalent of a participation ribbon. Battered wife syndrome is alive and well here at SMU.

Back off Warchild seriously.

Re: Kyle Kearns visiting
It's complicated, right? But I'll speak for me. My EXPECTATIONS (cue jtstang) from June were that he'd bring us back from two decade long suckitude to respectability, from literal laughingstock to relevance. My HOPE was several 9-plus win seasons. He has met every single one of my expectations.
It truly is group think, though, to feel the need to poke the JJ anthill every three to four frigging minutes. We know he doesn't recruit. Got it. No need to toss out jab number 245,983 on the subject.

FACT: An NCAA Coach that does not emphasize recruiting should be immediately fired for failing to abide by his contract

Sounds great to me. You might have a little problem winning that one though.
Re: Kyle Kearns visiting
I don't see this as a committee decision. We have a qb considering becoming a PONY. Does anyone on this board really want to tell this four star that he is not welcome because he doesn't have any big schools offering? I say welcome home Kyle! Here's a football.

No, but he plays NT which means he'll probably play RB here.PonySnob wrote:Can he play slot WR?

Dude looks like he has a legit arm, decent speed and good size. You can't read character, work ethic, etc., through a highlight tape, but he looks impressive on that clip that malonish posted.
