I wouldn't say it's a joke, you just have to take it for what it's worth. These situations change quickly. I tend to follow certain analysts (such as Meyer).

Each prediction is just what they see as the outcome at that point in time. As Cox said, the terrain changes and so do their predictions. I quit looking at 24/7 because I think too much bias creeps in to a lot of the things they predict.
When will I start feeling stimulated??

I hear you.

I did a lot of pruning. Added SG Pat McCaw and PF Melvin Swift. My guess is that if Turner falls through McCaw would be the target, especially after the Tolbert transfer.

I said before I like McCaw and IMO Tolbert's arrival to SMU has zero bearing on SMU's approach toward Turner. SMU doesn't even know if Tolbert would be eligible.

We probably will not know anything on Tolbert until August at the earliest imo.

Why do you say that? Is that pretty typical for these things? (I don't know, just curious). I would hope we would hear much sooner than that.

Firs he has to enroll at SMU before the waiver can be filed. Then it takes about 2 months or so before the NCAA gives a response because they usually have so many to review and deal with. That is when Rutgers got their response last year so I imagine it will be similar with SMU. It make take even longer because remember when Shawnbrey transferred to SMU and enrolled in December but did not find out if his waiver was approved until the week of the 1st game.

Plus you know the NCAA automatically puts all SMU transfer requests at the bottom of the stack.

It depends on how much the SMU compliance office can collect everything it can that's necessary before submitted the hardship waiver. So the burden of timeliness to file it falls on SMU first -- after Tolbert is officially enrolled. Then the NCAA group that reviews/approves/denies these applications will take this information, do its own diligence before it rules. Plus, there are possibly going to be other hardship waivers submitted for a lot of other sports. I wouldn't expect a ruling on this until late October or early November. But Tolbert can practice with the team while his case is under review.

Is there a chance he enrolls in summer school so the process can start sooner?

Doesn't matter. They'll decide when they decide and there is nothing that can be done about it.

The NCAA just in general sucks. I would want to know if I am granted a hardship BEFORE I enroll somewhere. Otherwise, why enroll? Kid takes on all the risks whereas NCAA has none. Zero. God, I hate that organization. Really stupid.
