This argument is maybe valid if we win the NIT but we did not. UCONN has experience in tournament play. We never would have made it to the final four this year. Now next year we could be a favorite….just move on and hope for the best.

FOX 4 NEWS â€@FOX4 #FinalFour fun fact: SMU beat UCONN both times when they played this season. We promise this is the last time we mention this.

I am tired of people using this argument. Yeah it's cool we swept UCONN, but it doesn't make up for losing to lowly USF and Temple.

UK had zero experience in tournament play and made it to the finals... I think the only player that had any NCAA tourney experience was Jon Hood who didn't play at all.

Because UConn could beat TCU.

Do you realize how hot UConn got at the right time? Was not the same team of a month ago...not a good argument.
Hell, they could've exited the tourney in the 1st round, they escaped OT against St. Joe's (I believe), they played better the deeper they went and legitimately beat 3 teams on that run that I didn't think they had a prayer against. The guards played extremely high level basketball.

Love me some UCONN. But let's face it, there's just a lot of luck involved. A lot. I have now reversed my position on playoffs in the NCAA. The best teams does not win the tourney most years.

Were we the ones arguing about that? haha, but yeah, it's a crapshoot. You got better odds of hittin the trifecta on the Kentucky Derby than the Final 4. There's only a handful of years in the past 20 that I can say the best team won it.

UConn won because of superior guard play, good shooting, and tenacious grit. They deserved it and kudos to them. AND SMU can use this as a mantra to show we are not door mats anymore and the NCAA can suck it! I see no problem in both statements coexisting in total congruity. Pony Up!! AAC to the P5.
