What have people heard about Dez Willingham?
When Phil Bennett was handed the Iron Skillet that goes to the winner of the SMU-TCU game, the hundreds of Mustangs fans who'd swarmed the field began hollering as if their team had just scored a couple more touchdowns.

I have from a good "source" inside b-ball circles that Dez is a "bust" and JT may have made a mistake.
Could this be true?

Hopefully, he's one of those players with two speeds. Yuk and great if what you're hearing is true. We can only hope that when the season starts, he puts the gears into overdrive. Otherwise, it will be a long time til January.

let's hope the rumor is not true. Our backcourt is looking good if Dez is the player we all hoped he'd be and BHop regains his eligibility. I expect Roberts to shine as a soph if he comes back healthy and Pearson to become a quality 3. As usual, the keu to success would then be what we can do in the low post, where we will have very little experience. If Dez turns out to be a bust or BHop doesn't make it back, look for SMU to be cellar dwellers in CUSA hoops.

He played as a freshman in the big 12 so he has some skills. I hate to hear he has put on pounds. Not good..........................

I saw Dez on campus today...doesn't look overweight at all, lets say he's a few pounds overweight, that will come off right away in Tubbs's camp, ask B-Hop

I've seen the guys play pickup a couple of times, and I dont see anything wrong with Dez. I'm not going say anything definitive after just a couple of afternoon scrimmages. but I didnt see anything that looked like a weight problem, and certainly nothing that indicated he was a "bust." Just my 2 cents.
Try not to choke on the Kool-Aid.

Agreed. Dez will be fine. And when Hop returns, they should be a fun combo to watch.
