I not only think he doesn't know he won't be here, I would bet that he firmly believes he will. I'm also not sure I don't agree with that. I'm not saying he should or shouldn't be here, but I'm thinking he will be. I also think there's something to the idea that he doesn't spend a lot (or in some cases any) time chasing the top marquee players because it appears they're on the fast track to Austin or College Station or Baton Rouge. If he doesn't go over those guys, I fully agree that there are more mid-level guys that can be chased. But we knew when he was hired that he's wired a little differently than most people. In some ways, it leaves us scratching our heads, in other ways, it's quirky and different. I don't understand it sometimes, just like everyone else. But that's not my call, either.

He doesn't go after mid level kids. No one is saying go after kids committed to Texas, aTM or LSU but obviously this what that the coaching staff is feeding you and you are sucking it in Corso. But we should be going after mid level kids with mid to low level BCS offers. We signed 9 kids with no offers in this past class.

Could it be that he has the actual best interests of the kids themselves in mind? Is that a possibility? You don't recruit a kid to come to a school you know you're leaving, especially when you might not be a good fit for the next guy's scheme. Might this be what's going on?

I am not a person that questions how a coach allocates his resources. If he chases the marquee guys, then fine. If he busts his [deleted] looking for diamonds in the rough, fine.

In fact, generally, I try not to follow recruiting at all between signing periods. I don't think it is productive to follow the decision-making process of teenagers in real time from a distance. These kids change their minds all the time and some wash out anyway.

I do however look at results and I follow the narrative of the ongoing recruiting season generally. And the narrative here is this staff doesn't put in the work to find the diamonds in the rough.

This staff is lazy. This staff is mailing it in. This is what a staff that mails it in looks like.

Old guy, doesn't give a s hit. He isn't happy, but is going to stick it out. Comfortable with his lack of effort. Hires his buddies of the same age and ilk to hang out with and shoot the s hit at the office. Tells people how experienced they all are. Doesn't put the work in outside of the designated practice time or game time, because he doesn't care about winning until the clock starts ticking on game day.

This class is going to suck. This season is going to suck. Watch 6 or more kids wash out because of grades.

Maybe the article a while back saying SMU is starting to show up more on the recruiting trail is true. I sure hope so, would like to see some good news on the recruiting front.

YO, June. Where ya been buddy? Some other coaches got off the golf course and have already started recruiting -- TX has 10 commits for next year, TCU and aTm have 8 each, and TxTech had 6.

I was glad to read in the Morning News that, even though you are doing a bad job, you aren't doing as bad a bad job as you have done in the past.
