2)Why is it you guys can't recruit talent if it killed you. I can't even name one player on your squad. Whens the last time your team made any type of national impact in the sports world? SMU is the step child of the old SWC and wasn't invited to the Big XII. Aggies get upset WHEN we lose to ranked schools...the only reason we make a game plan for this game is because TCU had four turnovers.
3)Don't talk about Bonfire...you weren't there. It makes as much sense to talk about Katrina victims as it does about Bonfire.
SMU didn't go Big XII largely because of post-dp stuff. Referring back to a previous post of mine, and incorporating yours quoted above, don't allude to DeathPenalty or any of its ramifications...you weren't there.
btw, the funniest tale about A&M's hinjinx during our pre-dp days was the Aggie booster who couldn't believe that a) not only did ED sign with SMU, but b) ED drove to Dallas in the Trans AM A&M bought him.

1) You guys know way to much about Texas A&M...our traditions, our yell leaders, our team, etc not to be envious of what we have. Why is it that kids leave in droves from DFW to go to A&M and UT. More expensive, less notority, less job opps = less return on investment. Outside of DFW, no one recruits SMU grads. In my years of investment banking in NYC, I met exactly 0 SMU graduates. How many job offers have I received because of Aggie alum...a whole lot more than if I was a Pony grad.

4)I'm watching the game with some SMU friends in Cali...and I'm pretty sure 99% of SMU fans are just hoping we don't cover the 28 point spread. That's it. Not a win....
Just some friendly fuel for you guys to come back on....if you come down to College Station, get there and back safely. And yes, the tailgating is as bad as everyone hears. Be careful with the TABC.
I would like to address some of your statements if I may:
1. Many of those people leave DFW for UT and TAM because they can not get into SMU. Also, you probably did not come across many SMU grads in your NY banking because they usually use the drive thru ATM and do not speak to the tellers. SMU grads provide jobs, AM grads are constantly being referred for jobs.
2. All of our players have names. One of them even starts with 2 Ns. TCU did not have 4 turnovers, SMU caused 4 turnovers. You will understand the difference tomorrow.
3. I guess no one is talking about Katrina so we will not mention your campfire.
4. We definitely want to win but we are also realists, something an Aggie could never be. Just know when it is all over win or lose, beat the spread or not, all of the SMU faithful will thank their creator for not being an aggie.

Let's talk a few minutes about recruiting. We stopped paying players in 1986. When did you? Our players by and large have been able to stay out of jail. Last time I checked, virtually your entire starting line-up had been fingerprinted and not for a job application either. That's some great recruiting. Character counts. We lost a starting QB with another year of eligibility because he wanted to get married and start a family and take a job. Because your players are getting a paycheck, I guess they can use up their eligibility when they are on work release from Huntsville.

It took me about thirty minutes to clean the coffee of my computer screen.

Of course I was not at the bonfire, I'm not a member of your cult. And it's different from Katrina, becasue nobody was brainwashed by a cult and forced to endure Katrina as a "tradition".

Good point...you guys have managed to recruit a decent team by only supplying goats.

Brstang, you shouldn't talk about your mother like that. It only cheapens her.

That's a great one, AG, really it is. How did you ever come up with that? Witty, witty, witty, you aggies are!
Maybe you can tell that to your co-workers at the Jiffy Lube on Monday.

I came up with it as easy as you did with your goat smack and your friends' smack about the tragedy of bonfire.
Wrong again br, I don't work with you and your dad at your local garage. I actually have an education and a job that goes with it. As for you, I don't know if the same can be said. I figure one, you are a t-shirt fan and might not have any education, but then again, who would want to be a t-shirt fan of smu. Or I figure two, you graduated from smu and that means your education sucks any way.

The real tragedy about the bonfire is that you and your cult friends didn't learn anything and still want to hoist drunk, brainwashed freshmen up on that thing.

gaytsstang, I won't even get into it with you over that because you and your school is just to low on the food chain to even make any difference.
Hey, Aggies...shouldn't ya'll start preparing for your 'tough game' against the Texas State University - San Marcos Bobcats (formerly Southwest Texas State University).
Yeah, I guess you got us on that one. In order for us to have a "tough game" we have to play a ranked team. For you to have a "tough game" you just have to play your local highschool.
