they had the hype of one and done lottery picks. They are not top 10 picks at this point.

I think Kentucky's underperforming regular seasons are a symptom of the fact that they typically start 4 or 5 freshmen. The proof is in the pudding though, since 3 of the last 4 years those freshman teams have gelled towards the end of the year and made final four runs. Next year, UK will have some actual sophomores with actual college experience starting. I think its fair to predict that they will play a lot better from day 1.

CBS would disagree with our PF's expert that no way Kentucky is #1 heading to next season...... but what does CBS know

Good for healthy discussion, but no way that Kentucky is #1 next season. Kentucky with their roster last year ended the year I think #25, then did well in the tournament. Losing Randle and Young will hurt. Yes they have talented recruits coming in, they do every year, but until they actually produce in college it is very hard for me to see Kentucky as #1. Example the Harrison Twins really did not produce last year to the level of their expectations.

Duke will be #1, no questions asked. Duke will have a good mix of both experience, talented Freshman, and a coach that knows how to get the best out of his players. There will always be 4 or 5 teams in the mix for #1. Kentucky just won't be one of them.

says the guy who smoked with Mitch Mcgary. Good lord.

Duke lost Parker, Hood, Thronton, Hairston and Dawkins (63% of the scoring output).

All they have coming back are Cook, Jefferson (who can't shoot), Sulaimon and two frosh. No I don't count screen setter, Plumlee. Outside of Sulaimon, not a ton of firepower. This team also lost in the opening round...

Remind me, didn't Kentucky make it to the NCAA tournament finals this year? It seems like they produced by the end of the year.

Don't forget Grant, duke also had a great tournament run

Can't believe I forgot that. Duke gave UConn a game in the finals while Kentucky lost to Mercer in the first round, somehow I had those two things switched in my mind. Of course now it makes sense that duke will be the clear number one and Kentucky will not be in the discussion.

ESPN: "Harrisons make Kentucky title favorite"

Best last name (that should be a first name) in the world.

I'd agree. All those freshmen a year older. They had players that were ranked in the top 20 coming in that barely got minutes, that's how stacked the team was talent-wise. Gonna be tough, the return way too much not to be really good with the incoming class. If the Harrison's left, they were still expected to be top 10. That's straight stupid talent.

The folks up here are going nuts about the Harrison's staying another year. The biggest problem that UK and Calipari are going to have is that they can only play 5 players at a time. Next years UK team is going to be absolutely loaded. It has got to be something to take a starting lineup of 5 stars out of the game and replace them with a lineup of more 5 star players.

On paper, they will be one of the most talented college teams ever. Unfortunately, I believe that will translate to the court.

No one said that Kentucky did not have a talented team. No doubt they are loaded with talent every year. Next year is no different. Every year their Freshmen are expected to be the best of the best, loaded with one and done talent. Every year a couple of misguided Freshman or Sophomores decide to leave Kentucky early for the NBA. See last year Archie Goodwin, Nerlens Noel. Two years ago Doron Lamb, Marques Teague, Darius Miller.

I give the guys credit for being part of the hype machine that is Kentucky Basketball, but reality is that most of the recruits that are touted as the next one and done, can't miss prospects, maybe about 50% of them are busts. See the Harrison Twins. Before the season the media was making it clear that Kentucky was loaded and that the Harrison Twins were both one and done. Don't take my word for it. See any NBA Mock Draft by almost any NBA Insider and the Harrison Twins are late first round, mid second round talent at best. Do you really think that the Harrison Twins are returning to Kentucky because everyone thinks that they are Top 10 one and done caliber players? No, I did not think so. Aaron Harrison Stats: (14ppg, 2apg) Andrew Harrison's Stats: (11ppg, 4apg) Both were in the top 3 in minutes played. Not bad, but not exactly NBA Lottery Talent. Instead see the double, double machine that is Julius Randle, NBA Ready, One and Done. I am sure that the Harrison Twins will get better with another year of college ball under their belt.

Regarding Kentucky's Team last season. Credit to them that they played an incredible NCAA Tournament. Going into the tournament, no one thought that Kentucky was going to do anything. If I remember correctly Kentucky was either #25 or just outside the Top 25 the last week of the regular season. Any team can get hot and they did. See UCONN.

No doubt that Duke lost to Mercer in the NCAA Tournament. Credit to Mercer. A lot of teams would have lost to Mercer that day. Believe it or not Mercer was actually pretty good with a roster of upperclassmen. Anything can happen in the tournament and often does. Should Duke have lost to Mercer, of course not, but this has nothing to do with whether they were better than Kentucky. Had Duke played Kentucky last year Duke would have definitely beat them. 2 years ago Duke did play Kentucky and guess who won. Duke. The last 3 games where Duke has played Kentucky, Duke has won.

Next season, Duke is stacked even without Jabari Parker and Rodney Hood. They will have two 2 top point guards in Quinn Cook and Tyus Jones, 3 top shooting guards in Rasheed Sulaimon, Matt Jones, Grayson Allen, a top SF in Justise Winslow, and the best Center in all of College Basketball in Jahlil Okafor. Duke was good this year, just wait till next season. Probably one of the best all-time Duke Teams hands down.

That's right, I just remembered you have a [deleted] for duke. The first few days on the boards you were talking about your love of JJ redick and how you expected Keith to average 20 points a game or some ridiculous thing like that.
