Just imagine a power grab among the hiring committee who brings in the Diet Coke of Ken Pye who "recognizes the unsustainability of high-level athletics" and seeks to "bring reasonableness to the Athletic Department" by "de-emphasizing certain programs to focus on the University's core educational mission."

That will never happen. High level college athletics does more to help the school's "core educational mission" than focusing solely on academics. Academics cost money, athletics bring money. Do the math.

lol, what? Yeah, Ken Pye didn't run our University for a number of years, or anything like that. Everyone just holds hands and sings about how wonderful athletics are which is why we're still in the SWC. Wait, we're not? How can this be?! Has someone told the Board of Trustees?!

I am saying it will not happen again. Pye is an enemy of SMU and so is anyone who tries to meddle with our sports programs.
