No one who wears a bucket hat would succeed at SMU anyway. We dodged a bullet. A tragically hideous, worn-with-Doc Martens, scary 1990's bullet.

Turner said we weren't in the top 5. I'm sure our coaches have known for while

They haven't been holding a spot for him, thus taking in Tolbert and going after McCaw, Cornish, etc

Bottom line UT needed help at center and in reality we didn't as much.

I am extremely neutral about Turner's decision. It is always good to have an extremely talented player commit, but as the process dragged on I became more convinced that he might not be the right fit for our team. We already have some very talented players and with the addition of Mudiay we have the makings of a pretty special season next year. Look at UCONN's last two championship teams. Both only had one true superstar (and yes, I didn't consider Napier a superstar his freshman season). They were surrounded by some very talented players that bought into the team concept. I think we are well positioned to make a serious run.

I agree.

Turner is obviously a fantastic player and I am sure he will do well, but I never saw "team player" in his antics.
