I don't know if this counts, but Baltimore is pretty fun. It's definitely got really shytty parts but I love Fed Hill and Little Italy.

I like the Harbor area near Camden. The rest I've found to be less desirable.

Agree with this part of your post. Closest I ever came to being murdered was in Baltimore

Call me shallow but my #1 requirement for living in a city is that it have hot girls. DC=fails this test, as do a lot of other East Coast cities like Baltimore, Philly, and Boston.

There isn't really anything to do in Dallas other than eat and drink, and yes, DC is run by morons, they tax the ever-loving-sh*t out of you, micromanage your life, and if you have a car/gun/dog, screw it, move to Virginia. Oh, and it's a prerequisite to be horrifically crooked to run for local office. But there's a lot more to do.

If I could use one word to describe DC women, it's frumpy. They aren't that good looking, and just don't give two sh*ts about it.

For Dallas, it'd probably be narcissist. If you aren't spending money on something to make yourself look outwardly more beautiful, you aren't doing it right.

Anybody with the money ought to open a decent Tex-Mex place in DC. Make bank. The city has garbage Mexican/Tex-Mex food.

I agree with all of this.

I've lived in both places. Dallas for 4 years, DC for 5 years. When I lived in DC (for a semester) and then moved back to Dallas (for my last semester), I found Dallas to be extremely boring after experiencing DC (it was the Washington semester thing so there was a lot going on). However, I would never live in DC again (well, maybe I shouldn't say NEVER but I would strongly prefer not to). For that chapter in my life (single, no kids, fresh out of college), it was fine. But, sorry, the weather there SUCKS (north enough to get really cold, but south enough that you got a lot of cold rain when new england got snow . . . also the summers seemed just as hot as Dallas from my memory and EXTREMELY humid - they built it on a swamp basically after all). Plus the crime there (at least when I was there) seemed a lot worse than Dallas. However, for culture, Dallas can't really compete with DC (few cities can of course).

Anyway, Dallas holds a special place in my heart (SMU and the Cowboys). I, now in this chapter of my life (kids, etc), would rather live in Dallas than DC. But I'd rather visit DC for a vacation than Dallas (I'd go to Dallas to only watch SMU - no other reason to go really).

My take.

Georgetown blows and SMU is awesome! (because it's my alma mater . . . if it wasn't, I'd say Georgetown overall is better).

And, uh, I DEFINITELY agree that Dallas/SMU women are MUCH more attractive . . . not even close. I was shocked, after growing up in the south my whole childhood, at the women in DC and how unattractive they were. Funny. Frumpy. Exactly the word I was going to use as well. People tend to go to DC to work and not really to "live" was my take.

LA is real good too, try to stay in the Westwood area where the money is if we're going shallow here

The best thing about LA and Dallas girls is how natural they are.

I'd be happy with Phoenix... hot women, great golf, and major sports teams.

My Power Rankings Outside of Texas

1.Phoenix, AZ
2.Charleston, SC
3.Santa Barbara, CA
4.Charlotte, NC
5.Nashville, TN

Tough to beat SoCal in terms of chicks- Santa Barbara, LA, Orange County...it's absurd out there. Never been to Phoenix but ya'll are making me want to. Nashville is underrated, that's a city on the rise.

Also in terms of ratio of hot girls::total girl population, I was surprisingly impressed with OKC

Best thing about Pheonix is the golf. Girls are par for the course with LA, Dallas ect...imo. Lived there for 8 years or so. Tempe is fun as hell as is Scottsdale, but Scottsdale is very, very uppity. So you'll get the snooty attitude there
