Great first day and good luck over the following two days. Such a great story. Impossible not to be rooting for this team over the weekend.

Go Mustangs!!!!!!!!!!!

SMU release:

http://www.smumustangs.com/sports/w-track/recaps/050214aab.html

"This team has in its mind to honor the memory of a great teammate and beautiful person," Director of Track & Field Dave Wollman said. "Our whole team has made this commitment to each other: To do this by putting 100 percent effort into every single performance."

"Hannah Moss is in every single mind and we carry her with us in each performance as we compete to honor her memory," Wollman continued. "Today's performance by each and every student-athlete on this team was a performance motivated by love for their teammates."

"We do not know if we will win or not at the end of the next two days, but we do know that we are one team caring for each other and performing with Hannah front and center on our mind."

"Every single athlete performed up to and beyond their personal levels today," Wollman said in closing. "We are rocking and are going to continue going hard for the next two days."

SMU release:

http://www.smumustangs.com/sports/w-track/recaps/050314aab.html

"Our team is putting together a meet unlike any that I have ever been a part of," Director of Track & Field Dave Wollman said. "There is no doubt that the kind of individual performances we had the last two days comes from months of dedication to training."

"We have had numerous personal-best performances thus far and several individual champions," Wollman continued. "However, this meet is meant to be a time to honor Hannah (Moss), and we intend to do this as a team."

"I know I speak for all our student-athletes when I say that tomorrow, we need to continue to put forth great effort and achieve our team goal. After that we will take the time to honor each individual performance."

"There is chemistry on this team that elevates them to a very high level," Wollman stated. "They care for each other and go to battle for one another. It's humbling to watch and fun to be in the middle of it all."

"Go Mustangs!" Wollman exclaimed in closing. "Two days down, one to go!"

Lisa Egarter and Lucija Cvitanovic finish in a group tied for seventh in the high jump giving SMU a crucial 1.20 points.

These points should clinch the overall championship for SMU with the only two events remaining being the discus with two SMU participants and zero UCF participants and the 4x400 relay where 10 points is the most UCF can theoretically make up.

1. SMU 139.20

4. Connecticut 103.60
5. Louisville 63.80
