Re: The great news continues...Nice, I'm excited. Thanks for the news. I would look at it as a positive, the B10 already has multiple commitments so I assume the Big East could do a conference series with the AAC too. I haven't heard one thing about the AAC trying to do any sort of conference series though.
Re: The great news continues...I think we are just as good of conference but the Big East has the ultimate wild card - MSG/NYC

Re: The great news continues...
I agree, I actually think the AAC is either on-par or will definitely be better than the Big East in a year or two. I look at this Big East and it's a bunch of mid-majors. All the teams that really mattered in the Big East are gone, Louisville, Pitt, Cuse, UConn, Cinci, Notre Dame, ect. that's a ton of star-power to lose. It's not even close to the bball conference it used to be.
Re: The great news continues...
I don't believe you will se too many AAC teams playing Big East teams. I do not think the 2 conference get along very well. Some of the comments the AAC commissioner made publicly about the Bid East were not very flattering to say the least. I don;t think the Big East would agree to this type of thing even if the AAC approached them after have has transpired. I think the Big East views the AAC as a top heavy conference that is below them. #HammerDown

Re: The great news continues...As long as LB is our coach, we're not a mid major. I'll go out on a limb and say no mid major has ever beaten a NC twice in that year

I think he was refereeing to the conference as a whole and he might be right. #HammerDown
Re: The great news continues...A conference with UConn, Memphis, Cincy, Temple and LB is not a mid major. I don't care who the other schools are.

Re: The great news continues...Take away Louisville, when has a mid major conference ever had four schools ranked? I'd be shock if a mid-major conference ever had three

Re: The great news continues...
You just proved my point in being a top heavy conference that does not get respect. In our SMU minds we get respect from ourselves but nationally I do not think that is the case as we saw in the tournament selection committee selections. Losing Louisville hurt and adding East Carolina and Tulane did not help. It may even have hurt. The mid major A10 may have more respect than we do as a whole. #HammerDown
Re: The great news continues...The way I see this development is the Big East trying to play up…grasping for legitimacy. A Big East-AAC series would make more sense and probably provide better games. It would benefit the AAC quite a bit but the Big East not so much. Eventually they'll have to realize there is little to no connection between the modern day Big East and the Big East of old. Going 2-8 or 3-7 against the Big 10 will hasten that realization.

Re: The great news continues...
No. You said we may be a mid-major not top heavy. You can't have it both ways. Our bottom teams hurt but with our top half we are a legit major bball conference SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four
