2014-15 uniform thread

I didn't design - it was posted by someone else last year I think.

Only a select few teams get something on the back of the jersy - my major point is that I would like SMU to join the ranks of UNC, G'Town, Florida, UK, KU, UT, Baylor, et al.

I hope they get a throw-back uni in white with the cursive SMU. Close to the ones in the intro video - great throw backs are always cool.

I like the home unis.

Don't care for the red (in either sport). Do the same as white except make everything white blue and vicey versey. Done.

hard to understand why our admin continues with this nike crap. They have never given us the time of day let alone a decent set of unis. Yet our admin continues to kiss their butts. We should go to a company that actually wants our business.

Well since there are only three companies out there...Russell Athletics isn't a real company...I'm willing to bet the AD chose whichever one sucks less. As low an opinion as some have of the AD, I'm betting they sat there and looked at all three (wow, 3 whole choices! That's so many, how did they compare them all?!) and picked whichever blew less for a school that shoe companies don't give a rat's a*s about.

Nike has provided us an arsenal of shoes. That's all the players probably care about. Last thing they want is Under Armour basketball shoes if that even exist

I can't see SMU ever going Under Armour - talk about a terrible brand fit!

The kids all love Nike. I don't see that changing. It's up to us to become relevant enough for Nike to care about what they provide SMU. It won't surprise me if it happens this year for basketball. Nike isn't stupid.

I liked the unis, but again any improvement will require the payment of the customization fee to Nike.

Seriously- getting fifteen cool basketball jerseys in three different colors couldn't be that expensive. Basketball is much cheaper to outfit than football obviously

Blue Uniforms for Home Games please.

I created this mockup last year, along with a couple of SMU Nike Jordan Basketball shoe mockups (XI's and XII's). First off, the typeface I used for my mockup (and also is used on the current basketball jerseys) was first used during the Pony Express days. If it was good enough for Eric Dickerson, it should be good enough for us...



I firmly believe this typeface lends the jersey a much more classic look, than the wordmark logo in our brand standards guide.

I personally do not have a problem with our basketball uniforms now. From all of the pictures of the SMU basketball uniforms from the past, these current uniforms are the best.

I would like to see blue away jerseys. I am fine with the Dallas Hall logo on the collar, sure the Peruna logo would make more sense.

The black Nike logo is unacceptable. I believe this a great example of the main problem with Nike. It seems they just do a half [deleted] job. Nothing seems to be really thought out or custom. It seems they send us non custom template products. They throw a logo on it and call it a day. I think we can all agree the basketball uniforms are much better than the football uniforms.

1523- my biggest issue with last year's unis were the font used for the numbers (terrible), Dallas Hall logo instead of Peruna (just plain stupid and bad brand awareness- no one who isn't an SMU alum or from Dallas even knows what it is), and the black Nike logo on the front. Fix those three things and I'd be happy- also, get blue uniforms.

I agree with everything you are saying. IMO these are the best uniforms we have ever had for basketball, but that does not mean they couldn't be improved.
