WTF? Boise mid-major recruitinghttps://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecrui ... AaEfNHPZB4
Already have a 4-star QB and two 3-star WRs (both from Texas) committed for 2015. And we have NOBODY. How could any WR possibly want to go to Boise over playing at SMU- much better city, campus, academics, etc. Inexcusable. 2005 PonyFans.com Rookie of the Year Award Recipient
Re: WTF? Boise mid-major recruitingNot to mention the fact that we are mainly a passing team and the receivers get plenty of
balls thrown to them.
Re: WTF? Boise mid-major recruitingLot of Boise State alums on that staff (5) and the OC and DC coached at Stanford and A&M respectively so they have a lot of recruiting connections on the West Coast and in Texas. Last recruiting class the DC actually got a National Top 100 kid from Mesquite to follow him from A&M to Boise State.
They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: WTF? Boise mid-major recruitingWhy is this WTF? It's not surprising that when you have a hungry staff that builds relationships with coaches and players that they do well.
I've never heard anyone out of Boise complain about the hard OOC schedule they've been playing for a decade or the fact that it's in a [deleted] town with not so awesome facilities with a stadium that has a damn track around it. Instead of embracing excuses, they've sought solutions and plowed ahead with a F@CK THE WORLD attitude instead of whining about meeting rooms. BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
Re: WTF? Boise mid-major recruiting
Just think it's odd they're plucking 3-star WRs out of Texas with us and Houston right nearby. I realize Boise has been solid recently but if I'm a black athlete in Texas there's a lot of places I'd rather spend four years of college than Boise, Idaho. 2005 PonyFans.com Rookie of the Year Award Recipient
Re: WTF? Boise mid-major recruiting
They must have bigger team meeting rooms.................. Peruna is my mascot!
Re: WTF? Boise mid-major recruitingthis nothing new-Boise has about 1 four star, 13 three stars, and several more two stars from Texas in about the last 5 recruiting classes

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: WTF? Boise mid-major recruitingGuess the Boise coaches stay after their recruits long past the initial offer.

Re: WTF? Boise mid-major recruitingThis isnt surprising at all. boise wins, period. They have a good staff and program reputation. They have obscure uniforms that kids like along with smurf turf. And you have a real opportunity to compete for conference championships and maybe make a big name bowl (worst case scenario you play in the vegas or poinsetta bowl). People get excited over boise offers, not houston or smu offers when we go 7-5 in a good year.
SMU Class of 2014
Re: WTF? Boise mid-major recruitingOur meeting rooms aren't big enough, there's no IPF, and our schedule is too hard. Duh.
Re: WTF? Boise mid-major recruiting
Repeating a joke ad nauseum is one thing, but it was made just 4 posts up in the thread. Not going for originality points I guess.
Re: WTF? Boise mid-major recruitingboise has 10x the "prestige" that smu football does right now. it's almost like recruits want to go to a winning program.
Re: WTF? Boise mid-major recruitingYeah.

Re: WTF? Boise mid-major recruitingThis is not surprising. Boise is a PAC 12 worthy program outside the conference. They are as attractive to kids as Oregon or Washington.
Re: WTF? Boise mid-major recruitingI just came back from a visit in Boise. I had an opportunity to walk around BSU campus. It is a very nice campus. Boise is a very safe, pedestrian friendly, clean city. There is plenty for a college kid to do and the climate is excellent. The surround area is beautiful. One can view mountains right next to the campus and also in the distance. Unbelievable wide open skys. It isn't surprising that they can get kids there. And their facilities are excellent as well with a huge IPF.
